Mario will never stop kicking ass in sales.

Mario will sell, though 100 mil is a little much.

He has come along way from being a small time plumber.

The franchise has sold 670K games since I made the original post... Up to 57.22M.

I'll bet right now that Mario will sell 100M games this gen. Counting every game with the word "Mario" in the title; none without; only games for Wii and DS.

There are 6 Mario games in the WW weekly top 20 right now. Some of them have been there for a looong time and will add millions and millions of sales. NSMB could make a run at 20M for example; Galaxy at 10M and Kart DS at 12M. I expect a minimum 12M more just from catalog sales of already released games; more likely 15M and possibly 18M.

I expect Mario Kart Wii to add another 10M, possibly 12M.

I expect Mario Party games to keep coming every year. 4 more editions for Wii, each one dropping from the last, but never dropping below 2M. Over 10M total.

I expect Mario sports games to come roughly yearly, and each do between 1-2M. At least three totalling 5M in sales.

Add in less predictable things like more Mario and Sonic or more Party DS games, along with potential curveballs and I'm very confident in 100M.

^ You should say Every title that has mario on its cover so you will count Brawl, in that way is really sure you could get the 100M

BTW Mario = A lot of $$$$$$$

Didn't they do a study showing that Mario was more well-known than those two important Canadians (whose names I cannot recall).
