According to a GAF user, Splatoon is the first new IP on a home console to pass 1 million sales ( plus digital of course) since Wii Sports in 2006. It's also doing better than the original Resident Evil, Pokemon Red/Green and the first Yokai Watch after 29 weeks ( 966k- without digital vs 837k vs 645k vs 373k). Nintendo has certainly struck gold with this game.

So ps4 is up a lot YOY. it's going to have an epic 2016. The next 2 weeks will add to its already impressive 2015 tally and give it the crown for another year as the top selling home console.

The vita is also up a lot YOY and it's mainly thanks to minecraft. Gives me great hope for 2016 considering its line up is so much better than this year. The thing ain't dying anytime soon!

Fallout 4 has a super opening and smashes the numbers by fallout 3. Just goes to prove how Japan is warming to the west. It should have decent legs too.

Next up gundam and #FE. Let's see how they do :)

Mad for WiiU. They really nailed the holiday lineup this year.

I'm also really pleased Vita is doing better YoY than last year. Minecraft has really changed the demographic, it's finally selling to parents buying the console for their kids.

As for software... Exist Archive did better than I expected, still bombed though sadly :(

But christ, not as big a bomb as Jojo =/

PS4 vs Wii U by Ryng_Tolu over at gaf. The ps4 is still winning but it will be close come week 53.

[WIU] 215,000 ( fun fact, nearly 40% of those sales are sold this week)


Will be very interesting to see. :p Next week is a given for Wii U, even with the stock problem.

The last week of the year, usually is better for PlayStation system, but considering the gap of this week, who know, Wii U can win even the week 53...

Ironic, isn't it, given how everybody was saying that the Wii U had an empty holiday lineup this year.  The lack of a price cut even had me thinking that the Wii U would for sure be down this year.

It just goes to show that once a console has amassed a sufficient back-catalog of amazing games it can start to carry itself to a degree.
