I find that sexist.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

No? If people didn't want to buy a Xb1 to play it or play it on 360 then a simple wait is already a generous price to pay to have it

Doesn't Sony have a policy that forces the developer to add extra content in the PS version to make up for the delay when a game releases later on their console, or it can't be released at all? Maybe it will have a few more tombs and some new cutscenes.

I remember reading something about that but can't remember where and how official it was.

Just check any 360 / Wii / PC game that released on PS3 after some time. Deadly Premonition, for example, got a revamped HUD, added more story hours and gave much more items to Zach inventory, like new clothes. Tales of Graces F did the same thing. Like every other game that fullfill such condition, really.

Maybe, but that would also say to the PS4 users "Hey, do you remember when we screwed you last year?".

I think it's over for them. Next Holiday season, the basic PS4 SKU will surely be the Uncharted 4 Bundle (maybe even with the UC Collection in it?), with huge third party games like Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, maybe even Persona 5 and something like Destiny 2 (and the usual Assassin's Creed, CoD, Fifa...). And other first party games like Horizon and maybe The Last Guardian. The new PS4 users will get Uncharted in their bundle, the old PS4 users will have plenty of new and hyped games to buy, nobody will care about Tomb Raider, even with a Definitive Edition. Could be one of the first PS Plus AAA games, or like this year a huge discount after the initial fail in sales.

I get you, but then I don't think Square/Crystal will do anything special to entice PS4 owners.

What I do expect though, is that, if there is a sequel to ROTTR, Square will focus on PS4 and PS4 owners and will do a lot of ass-kissing for the PS4 version. But I think the ROTTR situation is pretty much done by now on the eyes of Square and they will release the game on the other platforms and be done with it.

Yeah, seems like ROTTR can't catch a break from difficult release dates. I recall reading a rumor though, that said "exclusivity" of ROTTR was extended, which I don't believe, but then wouldn't surprise me if Square tries to push the PS4 release after the Holidays.

I agree. There could be a problem for the next game though...

I saw on GAF that Crystal Dynamics were the ones asking for the MS deal to SE originally, and that they usually develop games only on Xbox and give the Playstation port to other studios afterwards. If it's true and the studio is "Pro-Xbox" and doesn't have a lot of PS experience, then it could be harder to focus on PS4 for TR3 (new studio needed?).

What about Mass Effect 2? I remember the comic which was sold as a cool exclusive thing (when it was there to try making up for PS3 owners not getting the first one) but then the comic was made available for Xbox360.

How about Bioshock? Did it have something extra? I played the game but can't remember if there were any bonus goods for a later port.

I mean, those two examples you gave could be isolated cases. We should investigate this further.

I know the PC and Xbone versions of Tomb Raider 2013 were handled by someone else but I don't know about other people handling PlayStation versions.

The ex-Head of Crystal Dynamics was very enthusiastic of the Square/Micro deal back in the day:

I dunno, I mean recently PC got Helldivers and GG Xrd, the only slight differences with those was slight price cuts and the world kept on spinning, I imagine the same will happen with Dragons Dogma, there is no way Capcom are going to slightly up the game just for PC users which will likely mean they are planning for a current gen release which in the end means there would be no unique compensation (especially since PC had to wait 3 years for that game =P).

Sometimes a form of compensation can net you a purchase but other times it can also create a bit of a bad rift, especially in terms of trying to be fair with the bases you try to pander to.

The difference is nobody paid to keep them games of PC, sony doesnt have to release Helldivers on PC but trust me, it needs al the conmunity it can get if you know how the game plays so its a very smart move. Capcom are Capcom, your getting a better running better looking version of in my opinion one of the greatest games ever created, that in itself is enough :3. All ms did was pay to delay the PC/PS4 version, i sure as hell am not paying £49.99 for this, but i will get it at one time, all id be happy with is a complete edition for £30

Oh no I didn't mean in a way SOny was paying to keep those off, I meant as in Sony gave those sooner than MS is allowing TR to come out for the rest.

Also fat chance I'll be paying full price for TR anyway =P.
