Deaths have risen up 14% from 2013. Over 47,000 have died from drug overdose in 2014. A total of 500,000 lives have been lost from drug overdose since 2000.

 

What do you think should be done to help prevent drug overdose? I think the government is making the smart move to place more regulations on common drugs abused-an example is pain killers.

 

It's unfortunate that people overdose on drugs though. Quite disappointing how something meant to relieve pain ends up killing thousands of people a year.

There are already plenty of restrictions on drugs and junkies seeking those drugs will find them. Its the same story with all drugs.

I've known junkies and quite frankly they need to find their own reasons to get off drugs. All drug addicts know their addiction can/will eventually lead to death.

Thousands of people hang themselves every year as well. The problem isn't the rope, its the people needing to find help or reasons to live a normal life.
