I have been on the fence on this game since it was revealed. I actually hate the idea of the game.

It combines Paper Mario Sticker Star (which I hated) and Mario and Luigi Dream Team (which, at most, I was lukewarm towards) and it just seems like a lazy, unispired idea. 

However, there is a side of me that wants to get it. I think maybe two bad things may make a good thing...?

It comes out in January, and I don't think I am getting anything else that month so funds won't be a problem. I just wanna know if it'll be worth my time.

The game doesn't seem a whole lot like Sticker Star. It takes much more from Mario and Luigi. If you didn't like Dream Team, you probably won't love this.

That being said, Dream Team was one of the weaker games in the series. Did you play any of the other Mario and Luigis?

It seems like a mix closer to TTYD + Mario & Luigi. Maybe I'm a little too hopeful, but it seems like it will be the closest we've come to a real Paper Mario game since TTYD, even if it will be mixed with regular Mario & Luigi RPG elements.

I played about five hours of the first one on GBA and want to finish it someday, and I would also like to play Bowser's Inside Story (the concept of it seems really awesome).

Both series are great, but I just gravitated towards the Paper Mario series more though I'm starting to drift away from it after the last two games being pretty bad.

Bowser's Inside Story was actually the first one I played, and it's a lot of fun. The mix of Bowser combat and Mario & Luigi combat is well done, the story is fun, and overall, it's just a good experience. I'd rate it as one of the best RPGs on the DS, really, and considering the volume of RPGs the DS ended up with, that's saying something.

I don't enjoy the series as much as classic Paper Mario, granted, but it is great in its own right as a kind of spiritual successor to Super Mario RPG.

Hmm, if your not a fan of either series, then wouldn't recommend it..

Though it's not really Sticker Star, because the game is a Mario and Luigi game.. but since you aren't really a fan of that either then probably not

Dream team was ruined by the tutorial system and from what i read this seems to be the same. Its a shame. Both super stars and bowsers inside story were great.
