You know, guys, that's the sub headline as part of the review, not some kind of editorial award.

Hey, that's awesome! Good to see X have some recognition :D Though honestly, I wasn't expecting it. There are other RPGs that I'm sure a lot of people will say are also good or better, like Fallout 4, Witcher 3, and Undertale x )

Cool I guess...

Ye no, Witcher 3 is juts, theres not even how to compare this game to Witcher 3. Im playing Xeno X right now, its fun, has some anoying music and some very boring fetch quests but overall its fun, but Witcher 3 is just on a completly other level.

That's a surprise, and nice to see

I'm guessing that they, just like their Guardian brethren, have no clue what Pillars of Eternity is.

Good for them. I swear if it was Bloodborne, I'd throw my PS3 off a cliff...

None of the other choices are traditional RPGs so really, imo, it's the only one and should win by default.

So Fallout's not an RPG because it's not traditional? Yea, m'kay...

other iterations of Fallout rang WAY stronger in the RPG department, role playing. the new one is fun but is really heavy in just shooting. the leveling up components have been dumbed down, fewer relevant seeming quests, I don't know

Xenoblade seems pretty crazy I'm not surprised it won this category

Ah yes, Time Magazine. The go-to source for gaming news and journalism.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
