The Wipeout series is the Sony's rip off of Nintendo's F-Zero series. Ripping off people's ideas is so blatant in the gaming industry add a few variations and you have a cosmetically a different game.

Having said that both Microsoft's Project Gotham Racing and Forza series rip off Sony's Gran Turismo series.

Saints row rips off Grand Theft Auto series. Original ideas are few and far between.
