I didn't mean he was trashing Nintendo, more that he simply recognizes the need for variety.

I mean, there's nothing like XCX coming from EAD proper.

That's so bad. They have the talent to do great things.

Not sure I understand your meaning here. You mean to say it's bad that Takahashi thinks Monolith should make games unlike those of EAD?

No, that EAD has the talent to make games like Monolith and they don't do.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

It's odd that he says he doesn't pay attention to anime these days, considering Xenogears was more or less a direct copy of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Not saying what he says isn't true, but it is certainly a striking change.

Maybe it was all coincidence.

Evangelion has been out for a while though.

I can't see any Western influences on Xeno X. It's a weeb from the start to an end: characters, mechs, Nopons, creatures, world design, music, plot.

How about Zelda U? It appears to go on that particular path of open-world, ambitious project.

You know he's not only the one person. We also have Keiji Inafune prefers Western games to Japanese ones.

Who else... There's more.

Shinji Mikami, I remember couple years ago he was talkin about how Japanese games need to be evolve and stuffs like that, he created his own studio and now working with an american gaming company Bethesda Softworks, his latest game is The Evil Within btw.

Fumito Ueda the creator of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, he's also the creator of one of the most anticipated PS4 Exclusive next year, The Last Guardian. He's deeply interesting in Western games, particularly the FPS genre.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne. They're all very similar to the western RPG than the traditional JRPG tbh. Not to mention of the themes and stories (Medieval and H.P. Lovecraft) of the games.

Hideo Kojima, I'm pretty sure we all know why tbh.

Personally, i think Japanese games are awesome, they're great in their own ways. But the fact that the Japanese video games used to be the highly attrative for the masses in the whole world is now, only appreciate by the gaming community... proved that the Japanese games in general, just lost touch with the world.

I'm not so sure.  They are absurdly talented in their areas but EAD isn't exactly loaded with RPG experienced devs.  Maybe it would be interesting to have them team up with another studio who does to combine their skill set, like Atlus or Mistwalker.
