To me it was instaclassic after the 1st playthrough. And surely for many others considering how the game still resonates with basically anyone who played it.
Maybe, but there is an instant classic from the last gen: Super Mario Galaxy. I also believe there are another good games, 7th gen was so long.

Hell yeah, Resident Evil 5 is awesome and deserves timeless classic status.

YES, and this is a fact. Remember, The Last of Us is extremely popular. Infact, it's the biggest hit that Sony ever made and here are some facts:
It won over 250 GOTY Awards by now, a World Records.
It sold over 10 Millions copies, one of the best selling PS3 games of all times as of now.
It's currently the most rated and also one of the best rated User scores on Metacritics.
According to Google:
The Last of Us has 2 Billions and 210 Millions F*ckin results!
To put this in perspective, here is the entire Uncharted series: [39 Millions]
Or perhaps something else, like everything related to Resident Evil: [27.2 Millions]

No, not in my opinion. And I really like the game. I just got through beating it on Grounded+.
Great game, but I enjoyed Uncharted and even Gears of War far more than Last of Us.
