[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Around the Network

Fast Racing Neo is my favorite non Mario Kart racer since F-Zero GX, so nope. Also for me: Arcade racers >>> Sim racers, any day of the week.

Not at all. After Slight Mad Studios abandoned the PS3, X360 and Wii U versions (3 out of 4 platforms included in their original funding campaign), I didn't care anymore. Also note that the Wii U version was the most requested version by far on their online poll. They took people's money and went with it. After they started deleting negative comments  on their site (or comments questioning their controversial decisions in general) and only leaving the positive ones, they crossed the line. That game should have bombed even harder than it already did.

But I still would have liked Project Cars.
Then again, I am one of the few that bought Need for Speed Wii U

To be frank, yes, I´m still pissed off due to the cancellation of Project Cars.... but NOT because of the game itself, but mainly because WiiU owners were probably responsible for a great part of the financial contributions for this game to be done.

I remember that at certain point (about 8-7 months before release), there was a pool on the game´s official website, where we were encouraged to answer which system we would buy the game for, and there was a massive 65% of intention of purchase from WiiU owners, that later decrease to something among 60-65 % before they decided to end and erase the poll completely from the site

I thought that it was really disrespectful to anyone who contributed to finance that game, since a lot of people paid their contributions expecting the game to be available to their console of choice, what didn´t happened.

I probably wouldn´t buy it day 01, but it was so unprofessional from the developers that they should at least launch a formal excuse to WiiU owners, they simply gave up and left people with no word about it.

People consciously put their own money at stake knowing what was at risk. SMS didn't take money, this is simply the nature of crowdfunding.

BTW, the game was already fully paid support for the pc crowd. This was stated by the team

It's like saying "Now that we have a Tennis game, we don't need football. These two games are barely similar. How can one replace the demand for the other?

They did give a formal statement in the end. They said that the game was running at 22 fps and that releasing it would essentially be suicide, since the money it would take to release it costs more than simply cutting it. They also said that they wouldn't recover the money if they had to optimize it.

In terms of funding, the game was mainly funded by pc owners. Those who lost out were in the minority that contributed for last gen. But they knew full well that they could lose that money (this is the nature of crowdfunding)

Funny how hey said it was running great on wiiu just before that statement!!!

I never talk to other than when you try to get a rise out of me or argue with me in the Nintendo thread.

Ok so who is it aimed at then? I mean that's a pretty specific detail to just include in your title.
