This idea came to me a few days ago. It seems a bit strange that we have had no new main series pokemon game this year, or even an official announcement of Pokemon Z. We know Zygarde is getting new forms, but no new game announcement. Also, Hoopa and Diancie are now both available, and play roles in Pokemon X and Y. Diancie is a mutated Carbink, and Hoopa made all the rings where legendary pokemon are found in ORAS. BUT with Volcanion just getting announced, it got me thinking about where it plays a part in the pokemon world. Well, here it goes.
The next pokemon game will stretch accross 2 regions. One being Kalos, and the other being entirely new, but not having any new pokemon. (or just a small number of new ones that uses the same starters) Lets see the evidence so far. In Couriway town there is train station but it serves no purpose. Apparently it "brings trainers from a long way here", that being the new region. There have been many hints in the game that another region exists and that would explain it. It would be like in Gold/Silver when you beat the elite four and then go see Kanto, the region from the last game. It also isnt a huge secret that Gen VI took huge inspiration from Gen 1. Kanto starters, red and blue logo, etc...
On top of that, the developers have been quoted more than once saying they like to surprise their fans, and often try to do things we wouldnt expect. It would also explain the long wait period since it would require building two regions and finding a way to link their stories together. Gen VI even had a very small number of new pokemon in it. So what do you guys think, could something like this actually happen, or are we just going to get an improved Kalos region?
