Forums - Gaming - Kingdom Under Fire 2 Screenshots. Oh My God!

A few notes for the un-initated about Kingdom Under Fire:

#1. This game WILL be X360/PC only. Every KUF game has been, and Phantagram has NEVER once said they'd do otherwise. A PS3 version, as usual as it may seem for some, is very, very unlikely.

#2. Circle of Doom was a spin-off of the main series, and although it uses the same KUF storyline, and universe, it was designed, and has always been stated, as a unique game detatched from the core gameplay of Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes and The Crusaders.

#3. Play Circle of Doom on multi-player before labeling it as a bad game. For everything the KUF series is, COD on Singleplayer was vastly NOT what KUF has ever, ever been about.

#4. Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders, which is the game immediately before Circle of Doom in storyline, was one of the best Xbox games, period. There were hundreds of graphically good enemies on screen at once, with very good AI/Squad maneuvering, a great UI for an RTS such as Crusaders was, and just a brilliant meld of Hack-N-Slash and RPG.

And having said this, I am FULLY confident that Phantagram will put out a 85%+ game. It will not be some AAAAA be-all-end-all ubergame, but will certainly put games like Dynasty Warriors, and many Action RPGs to shame. Phantagram has been toying around with the 360 since it's launch with titles like N3 and COD - This new Kingdom Under Fire game is the main course for what KUF can, and will be on the 360. I know this because N3 and COD were so away from the perfect idea that The Crusaders and Heroes was.

Again, KUF is the golden standard for what a 3d RTS can, and will be on any Console. And I cannot wait for 4 player multiplayer for this. It will be absolutely amazing.

Its not just you, that was the first thing i noticed, it just looks ugly and late xbox quality.

Pretty good screens. They look around CoD4 level. Maybe a little higher. Obviously not Crysis level but nothing that has a home console version is. The first was a pretty awful game. Chances are this will be too, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Again. Circle of Doom is a spin off and yes it is awful. But This is KUF No2. And the No1 are the XBOX's Crusaders and Heroes. Action-RPG-RTS games.

Yeah, I tried to tell people that in my first post in this thread. Maybe your posts, my posts, and Mr. Stickballs will finally get people to realize that fact.

Its still up in the air whether or not it is multi-plat until we get some more definitive information from retailers or the publishers themselves.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Ever played anything in the KUF series? There is about a 2% chance it'll be on the PS3 - despite the PS2 owning the Xbox in terms of sales, KUF stayed Xbox-only. Chances are, Phantagram has little reason to dev on the PS3 for a game that probably wouldn't sell enough to justify the port.

Then why hasn't the developer said it is going to the 360/PC only?

...Because Phantagram rarely, rarely states platform until it's well in development? It was about 2-3 months before COD launched when Phantagram mentioned it was X360 exclusive.

The best analogy that I can make is Insomniac. It sort of goes without saying that any game they develop will be on a Sony platform. Same thing with Phantagram, unless they state otherwise its assumed that their games are X-box/PC exclusive.
