I played it for about 3-4 hours straight... I cannot stress how much better this game is than FIFA.

It is the best Soccer game I have played, the controls work wonderfully- graphics are fine. I have not tried the online mode. This is a must buy if you like soccer or just enjoy sports games in general. The champions mode has a very RPGish feel to it also as you earn stats and can pick different skills for each person.

 

Hats off to Konami for actually putting some effort into a Wii port(glare at 95% of other third party ports)

I'd give it a 90% overall- great presenation and gameplay, graphics are fine, music works.

Did you play with a friend yet? I wanna know how multiplayer works. That is the biggest factor in WE games for my friends.

also I think I should add that the girl at GS said they had been selling alot of them, and I live in bigtime Football Country(American). Hopefully good sale will make Konami keep it on the Wii : )

Thanks for your first impressions, bigjon.

Can't wait for the EU release next week. Best football series ever created. I've played PES4/5 hundreds of hours on Xbox.

It is a definite buy if you love football/soccer (although some FIFA fans might disagree).

Personally I think PES is not only the best football/soccer series, but the best overall sports series created to date. There's a reason why this series is very popular in Japan and exremely popular in "Others", especially Europe. Although the Japanese Wii version sales are a bit disappointing in my opinion.

Every goal feels different, the players are stumbling around, scratching the ball from the goal line, throwing themselves in the fireline. Brilliant, unmatched player animations, more suspense in every match than your heart can take. But...er...maybe I'm a little biased...

If you are not familiar with football/soccer games and are interested, you should give it a rent at least.
