Forums - Nintendo - Why are Europeans not more supportive for the Wii U?

Europe is not that Nintendo-friendly. Before the PS1, Europe gaming usually focused on PCs. And after the PS1, Europe became very PS-centred. The PS2, PS3, PSP and PS4 best market is Europe.

Nintendo has to compete harder there, that is why Europe usually gets things earlier, or at a better price.

Also, the loss of Fifa and CoD really hurt european sales.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Almost everyone I know with a gaming console has PS and uses it for FIFA. They don't even know what a Wii U is.

Nintendo used to be very popular in Norway during the NES and SNES era, 99% of the people I knew had one..

Europe = Playstation land

Basicly.

the reason ? Honestly: because i find the wii u very boring and many people too. The games-publisher are gone.
And the best jrpgs are coming for PS4 in the future: Persona 5, Dragon Quest 11, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 15, Star Ocean 5 and many more.

I honestly don't really know why Europe tends to not favor Nintendo. But I do think that Nintendo sees this weakness and tries to solve it by giving Europeans incentives to come to their platform (getting games earlier than America, better Club Nintendo rewards in the past etc.)

Does the Wii U get Fifa?

That answers your question.

This.

And also, Europe has never been very supporting to Nintendo homeconsoles. Even on Nes/Snes era, Sega was actually more popular in a lot of countries. They never conquered this market, then Sony took Sega place as the bad boy of videogames and almost monopolized the market with PS leaving little room for anything else, and that has never really changed until today except for the Wii. Handhelds are another story though.

They just play fifa.

Pretty much each market,different fans,xbox-NA Playstation-europe Nintendo-Japan

There are many reasons but with a severe lack of mature titles it's seen as a children's console mainly. Where as other consoles have Broader family appeal, and young kids these days are more interested in iPad games of which there is a limitless supply of free and educational games which parents prefer.

Certainly my kids playing math games on my iPad and the occasional platformer on my ps4 is preferable to me buying another £200 console just so they can play Mario. Even tho Mario is what I grew up on 😀

Think one of e big winners this Xmas will be amazons new £50 fire tablet, my kids will be getting one each and I can have my iPad more lol.

Because the games are boring, the pad is way too big and internet apps are slow. I barely used it except for monster hunter 3, which i more or less knew from the wii. When mh4 was out on 3ds, i switched and got good money for the wu.
