Forums - Gaming - Opinion: PS4 will blow away the XB1 with better games in 2016

SWORDF1SH said:

To be honest, the PS4 has been stellar since launch and if it wasn't for MS PR brainwashing, we wouldn't be hearing this "PS4 has no gamez" nonsense. Right now the PS4 has a good amount of games by normal standards, but maybe a little quiet by PlatStation standards. Ok, PlayStation fans may have the right to complain a little because they are used to a high standard but most of the complaining seems to come from "other" fans that probably do not own a PlayStation and never will.

Look I'm not trying to start a fanboy war but we must remember that if Sony studios are a little quiet by their standards, that just means that the slight recession in 1st party games will be counteracted by more games at a later date. Looking at both release schedules for the PS4 and XB1 in 2016, the PS4 edges it with exclusives and I can only see more Sony studios due to release a game soon so if they both do announce more games for 2016, I can only see the PS4 expanding its list more.

In short, the PS4 has more fire power when it comes to first party studios so if it just had a "bad" year, then that just means more games at a later date. Now before we hear people shouting off, the Xbox will get good games but not just as good as PS4. Going by past track records the PS4 will always come out on top when it comes to games, discuss!

I think we can see the PS4 with better exclusives, but at this point, when I see the list of exclusives, I think they will be at the same level, if not with the Xbox One ahead. It depends on personal preferences, in my opinion. Quantum Break, Recore and Scalebound for Xbox One, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Horizon: Zero Dawn are the games that catch most of my attention, so at the moment it would be hard for me to choose between the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

And I repect that opinion. I do need something to make me buy a XB1 and I thought Forza might do it but not enough pull. Quantum Break I have been very interested in until I see the "live action" sections which is basically live filmed footage plonked in the middle of the game. That really turned me off the game.

There's no doubting XB1 will get good games, PS4 will just have more of them from well established and respected developers.

Agreed OP. XB1 is done for this generation (will come second or last).

MS had a chance to build from the momentum of the 360 but blew it completely. Even though the features of the XB1 are now awesome, it's still suffering from a lack of exclusives.

You're still confused on this whole "lashing out" thing, friend.

O really!

  • I hope Horizon is good, because then Guerrilla won't have to waste any more time on Killzone. Lash out at GG and Killzone
  • It does seem to be a pat yourself on the back thread. Lash out at my opinion
  • Where am I lashing out at the PS4? You're the one who made the thread, friend. Hope that helps. Mini sly lash out in the same breath as you questioning how you're lashing out
  • but you appear to be an expert at being frustrated on message boards Lash out at me

We might have to call Yolashite Lash from now on.

Please we all know PS4 has no games and only took advantage of the mistake made by Microsoft at the X1 reveal and Nintendo's lack of vision with the Wii U and even when it has games, there is nothing great or interesting.

Good thing you put opinion on the title and not facts.

1) Ps1: 104.25

2) N64: 32.93

-----------------

1) Ps2: 157.68

2) Xbox: 24.65

3) GC: 21.74

-----------------

1) Wii: 101.18

2) Ps3: 86.13

3) X360: 85.14

------------------

1) Ps4: 30.31

2) X1: 17.09

3) WiiU: 11.25

3 out of 4 generations for Sony, and you still say that the Ps4 is destroying the competition just by chance because of others fuck ups?

LOL

Well, that's actually how Sony won its first generation, so that's not really an unfair assessment. XD

SEGA released a $400 console that was REALLY difficult for third parties to work, and made 3D development really difficult, which lost them a lot of support and led to the Saturn garnering the stigma of being an underpowered, overpriced console.

N64 made the mistake of utilizing cartridges, which were both more expensive and could hold less data than a disc. This was what caused them to not only lose third party support, but Final Fantasy 7, which became one of the PS1's flagship titles.

Don't even get me started on 3DO and Atari. XD Sony was the ONLY company that generation that didn't royally screw up their hardware, which I'd say played a huge role in their success since they lacked both brand recognition and recognizable first party content. PS1 relied pretty heavily on third parties. That said, Sony also had some good marketing and made some smart first party deals/acqusitions which shouldn't be discounted.

PS2 more or less coasted on its predecessor's success, though it also didn't make any dumb mistakes and smartly used DVDs. This generation didn't really have any screw ups so much as it just strengthened last gen's status quo. Oddly enough, the PS2 was actually pretty difficult for third parties to work with, but its huge userbase made it pretty difficult to ignore.

In terms of quantity, I think there's no "agree or disagree". The PS4 will have more of them, that's a fact. About QB: while I still look foward to this game, I'm losing my interest on it with the passage of time. 3 years since the first announcement? I think that's too much.

Yep, you're still confused. LOL @ hoping GG moves onto something else instead of KZ7 being a "lash out" against both GG and KZ. I think the popular opinion is GG should move on from KZ. Thanks for the giggles.

Xbox One is def. falling far behinde when it comes to games..... but its probably tied abit to the amount of sales each console has.

The more sales your console does, the more people want to develope games for it.
Theres alot of 3rd party that just dont bother doing xbox one releases.

Its going to start showing in 2016, and go on from there.
Die hards will defend the xbox one, by saying it has less games but they suit their tastes better ect.

Can you name me one 3rd party with AAA games not gonna release their game on Xbox one ?

Ace Combat 7, that was Exclusive for Xbox 360, will not release on Xbox One, Street Fighter 5, will not release on Xbox One, Resident Evil Umbrella Corps, will not release on Xbox One, and Every Single RPG/JRPG or Japanese game, that somehow was Exclusive for Xbox 360, now is Exclusive for Playstation 4, and is not coming to Xbox One, the One from Koei Tecmo, Ni Oh, will not came for Xbox One, like Dead or Alive, that was Xbox 360 Exclusive, now is Playstation 4, exclusive and is a Koei Tecmo Game.
