It doesn't..it was a retort to the VS (non)debate in the title. A would-be clash is nullified as games are transferred between both platforms and for everyone who'd "see less reasons to own a ps4" there'll be those who "sees less reasons to bother with a gaming PC". The discussion would be different if things went to PC and nothing came from PC to consoles. This scenario was somewhat inevitable anyway.. Locking yourself into a platform and only one revenue source without having any contractual obligation to do so is just asking to be counting down the days till your doors get closed. If releasing Neptunia games on PC helps IF keep making new games on PS4/Vita, I'm all for it, 0 reasons to be bothered or want to switch platforms. Better then seeing them close down. In the long run the distinguishing factors between platforms will mostly consist of self published titles.. And by that I mean console-manufacturer published games (not necessarily first party, see Bloodborne or Scale bound) on consoles, and (partially) Valve/Blizzard(some) + self published Indies on PC. Though..despite writing this, I do have to give the final plug to PS4 with an easy example. Out of recent announcements, we could make a list of, imagine, 10 games. Now, maybe 4 are console exclusive, 4 are console debuts and 2 are timed exclusives.. What this results in paper: PC gets 4 of those games. It might get some of the others. Using a concrete example, Nioh could very well get a PC version but I doubt NNK2 will (NX seems like the safe bet). NX gets 4 or at best 6. X1 might get between 4 and 6, but possibly even 0. Ps4 gets all 10. Retains the advantage over the other platforms that regular exclusivity would give it. |
This is the point i whas trying to make!
More sales more games more fun for us all!
