No game should be up for "greatest" anything within a month of launch. The true greats don't need an army to spam for it to be great right off launch. Let's let the game talk for itself and we'll see how it fares in a year or two |
Really don't understand this train of logic. The entire contest is determined by whose "army" spams the most.

It tends to come down to actual spamming much less than you'd think. It's just fans rallying on for games that legitimately have huge dedicated fanbases, not a very small group of people spamming multiple accounts and forcing a month-old game into the fray and then past tried-and-true classics. l've never seen any polls being raided this hard before, and I was there to witness Mountain Dew Gushing Granny.
The only thing this does is turn me off of the game because the fanbase is too childish to promote it in a respectful manner. The fanbase is almost as bad as FNAF already and it's only been three months. And I genuinely enjoy the Mother series even if 2 is overrated, so it's a shame that I now have to wait a good several months to play the game because I'll immediately connect the game mentally to the manchildren on gameFAQs.
And obviously it's not like the poll matters; TLoU lost in the second round and spot for spot that's considered the greatest game ever (even if I personally disagree quite a bit with that), and gameFAQs is notoriously Nintendo-skewed. But the fact that this fanbase is drawing support purely to troll the rest of the Internet is just disgusting to me. I don't care how the poll turns out because it's going to end up being Ocarina, Majora, or VII, unless this Undertale spam splinters off even more with salty losers voting for it to spread even more salt. At that point if it wins, the fanbase has done more harm than good for the game with how many people will be pissed off at it.
You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt! I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading. After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
