Yeah Gears2 VS Resistance 2 is going to be intense :) I just have a massive feeling Insomniac is going to give Epic the ass whooping of a lifetime xD

Because Gears one was such a failure and Resistance got rave reviews ??? I mean we won´t know till both are out but to think Epic will just drop the ball is a little pretencious... that sayed I hope both do well on their own... Gears will be better however....JK

Fenix would pound Snakes butt all over the place... no question at all... Snake is an old man and he never fought aliens... he doesn´t even have a chainsaw on his gun... your to old for this shit old man...

Snake is supposed to be something like a real guy...while Fenix was simply drawn 2.5 times wider than real human beings so he could look buff for teh XBox doods.

Anyway, while Fenix was still looking around for this "alien" named "Snake" he was supposed to kill but couldn't spot....well, he'd wake up with his anus hurting if he woke up at all.  ;)

RESISTANCE I was a shitty game. Good luck with part 2.

Man I miss the days when a shitty game wasn't a game with an average score of 84 on metacritic xD.

Resistance 1 had a few things fighting against it.

1.) Time, it HAD to be a launch title and time was definitely not a luxury.

2.) New hardware, everyone agrees that learning PS3 hardware is an absolute bitch.

3.) No middle ware, they built a new engine from the ground up to make resistance 1.

4.) First time making a serious/FPS game since Disruptor (PS1 game xD)

And even after all of that, they came out and made a game that averages out to 84/100 on Metacritic :P Impressive I do say :)

If you've seen the updates to their resistance engine from RFOM1 to R&C Futures, it's simply jaw dropping in terms of tech specs. (To me) the R&C futures engine blew away everything Gears of war brought to the table, I think it had higher res textures, much richer audio, vastly deep color pallet, a locked 60 frames per second, pathetically short load times, and plenty of streaming goodness, and from a few articles, for RFOM2, they have even more of the engine optimized for the PS3.

So not only do they have vastly superior tools to work with, they're working on their own time. In terms of length and content I think we can all safely assume that Resistance 2 is going to obliterate Gears 2, and in my personal opinion, I think they will probably be able to outclass them on every corner of the table, graphics, audio, storytelling.. etc etc. But I'm a fanboy so take that with a grain of salt :P

@El Dude, true! The ambient noise was pretty good :) But the gun you end up using for 90% of the game sounded so lame (it almost sounded like a plastic jack-hammer, if that's possible xD), and the random dialogue that Fenix spews when doing anything from picking up ammo to taking cover is so annoying -_-; I say it's audio was terrible because I almost really do enjoy that game more on mute. And about the multi-player, if MGS4 ships with MGO, thats kinda moot :x

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

For me MGS series is alot like Devil May Cry series in terms of good and bad. MGS first 2 games great 3rd poor. I hope the 4th is awesome. GOW was a great first game and the second sounds like the single player will have more background story for us and more open so should be great.

I agree that both are different games. Both will shift consoles.

IMO the Metal Gear Solid games went downhill after the first, which was outstanding at the time. PS2 versions were a disappointing follow up. Is it just me or is MGS looking more and more like the Splinter Cell games?

Sorry I was thinking of Killzone 1, not resistance.

They're way too different.

Resistance 2 vs. Gears 2 may be a better question.

As for the MGS4 vs. Gears 2 thing, MGS4 is out in June (5 months ahead of Gears) so its not really close even. MGS4 will have sold 2-3 million by then.

I'm back...

Agreed they are hard to compare. If you want to talk about Metacritic ratings, it will be close. MGS4 might get it, but only by a point or two at the most.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
