New Halo 3 Map Pack Coming Soon

The Legendary Map Pack will feature three new multiplayer environments: Ghost Town, Avalanche and a third, unannounced location. The pack will be 800 Microsoft Points (US $10) and is scheduled to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace on April 15.

Here's how Microsoft and Bungie describe two of the new maps:

Ghost Town is a battle-scarred maze of narrow passages and dangerous ruins outside the once-prosperous city of Voi. Collapsed ceilings and shell-battered buildings provide both valuable cover and deadly traps, as catwalks and stairways take the fight from claustrophobic ground combat to dizzying rooftop battles. Ghost Town is a mid-sized map ideal for Team Slayer games and smaller, objective types.

Spring has sprung.

The weather outside is frightful.

The third map is still a mystery, but a Microsoft news release said it will be "another returning classic… fans of smaller Slayer maps, it's time to get excited."

In addition to the new maps, Halo 3 players will also see some additions to the Forge when they download the expansion, but Microsoft hasn't provided any details just yet.

I am more comfortable with the price this time around. While it is still on the steep side we are getting three true maps, and an enhancement to the forges functionality. So this pack is a little heftier then the previous map pack. I am also incredibly pleased to see my old friend Sidewinder. This was one of the more popular maps on PC. I am equally pleased to find that the Hornet will make its appearance. Here is hoping they bring the Scorpion out of retiremement.

The third map really intrigues me. There are still so many wonderful old maps begging to be brought back to life. I mean it when I say Halo for the PC was the best experience in the entire series. The maps were so beautifully crafted.  What old school map would you like to play, and which old school map do you think they will include. Here is the list.

They already remade that map for Halo 2. Also on Halo 2 they have had remakes of The Longest, Hang Em High, Derelict, and Wizard. I really hope they don't recycle the maps they have already recycled before. That would be depressing. All you have to do to play those maps on your 360 is to buy Halo 2 which is dirt cheap and install the download content.

 I skipped Halo 2 multiplayer.  So for that I don't really care.  Blood Gulch was my favorite in Halo 1 system link.  They should just add all of the Halo 2 mulitplayer maps for free anyways.

As far as old school maps revisited, I really want Boarding Action back. For the longest time I hated it, as did all my friends, but then we made a 2v2 Capture the Flag, snipers only, not even pistols, and it quickly became my favorite, passing hang em high and blood gulch.

Anyone else every play Boarding Action?
