actually people are not talking about Zelda U as much as people think. Just for example look at FF7 remake. It was trending on Twiiter. Like number 7. Thats a big deal that means that its more than just typical gamers talking about it. Fallout 4 was teh same before.

Yeah, some people here really overestimate the hype for Zelda U. I get that they personally are excited, but it's a mistake to assume the general gaming mainstream shares your enthusiasm.
Compared to other big games, its barely even a blip on the radar at the moment. Most gamers have practically forgotten it exists.

Gamers in 2015 don't like secrecy. They like regular injections of hype to keep them interested.
Nintendo doesn't get that, because apparently their management think it's still 2009.
To be honest, I kinda don't need any more information. I'm already sold on the game, I just want to know the name of the game and that's it so it can be more of a surprise.

was there ever a time when gamers liked secrecy? cause i doubt it. I think some people dealt with it from Ninty cause thats just how they did things, but the way things are now, i think its less tolerated.

I don't know if there ever was, but it's certainly less tolerated today.
Gamers can't stay excited for almost a year of nothing. Hype dies fast, and needs to be regularly replenished. Sony gets this. Microsoft gets this. Games like Uncharted 4 recieve new material rolled out every few months to sustain the hype train.
Nintendo should be doing the same thing with Zelda. Instead, they give it a little push, then sit back and let it run out of momentum and grind to a halt. I'm not sure I can ever remember there being less hype for a Zelda game a year out.

One does not simply lose hype for Zelda.
