In my honest opinion, I think Twilight Princess benefited a lot from being a Wii launch title. I doubt it would have sold more than 4-5 million if it was a 2011/2012 title like Skyward Sword.

Exactly my thoughts as well, it was the biggest title at launch for the platform and also for an entire year until Galaxy and Corruption arrived, it's nothing to do with the visual style like a few are trying to push I think some are mistaking the fact that they liked the visual style of the game being the reason it sold well, MM shares the similar a visual style and was the least selling of the console games.

Totaly agree.

Also people dont understand that Wind Waker have highest attach rate for any Zelda game after OoT.

thats nothing to be proud of when the game was on there worst selling home console(not counting Wii U). People tout this like its a good thing, if anything it just shows how poorly the system sold.

4.5M vs 8.8M

Tell me which one made Nintendo happy. On top of that I recommend you to see again the The Wind Waker HD trailes, in one of them Iwata mentioned that part of the reason of the remaster was that they want the game to be more known and loved by the fans. Why?

And finally, Aonuma made Twilight Princess a realistic Zelda because the not so hot reception from The Wind Waker.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Here's what you seem to fail to realize; as a Nintendo fan, you are a minority when it comes to the gaming population. Most gamers do not share your tastes and views. What you are hyped for, the majority of gamers don't care about.

Where I wrote that whole gaming market is very hype for Zelda U!? I wrote that those who are not very hyped (Nintendo and Zelda fans are very hyped), are very aware of Zelda U game, and that people are definitely more hyped for Zelda U then they were for WW on GC.

That's not saying much as WW was widely ridiculed after its reveal due to its art style.

Zelda U is a hyped game among the Nintendo hardcore like you and me, but in terms of the industry as a whole, its hype level is relatively low. Most gamers are far more excited about the likes of Uncharted 4, Final Fantasy 15, FF7 Remake, etc, and don't give a hoot about a cartoon game on a platform they don't care about, especially one that has bugger all shown of it.

I never understood the attach rate argument for a games success, especially for a game like Zelda who's sales aren't dictated that much by install base. Adventure of Link, Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds all have or will have sold in the 3-5 range on devices with install bases ranging from 20-155 million so install base really isn't that big of a factor when talking about a game like Zelda with a strong and dedicated fanbase.

some fans will do anything to make the situation look better than it actually is. Its hilariously pathetic. Im sure the execs arent sitting around saying "but the attach rate is good!" There probably saying "God damn this system is selling like crap!"

I referring to attach rate, Zelda WW sold 4.5m on instal base of 22m, thats a great number for such small instal base.

So you counting GC and Wii numbers!? In that case WW and WW HD sold more than 6m, LT will probably be around 6.5m, so 6.5m vs 8.8m.

I already wrote, WW had very bad reception on revile and on launch from fans beacuse art style, but again ended with sales of 4.5m on very small instal base and become one of the most loved Zelda aftere people actualy played game, today people think that WW has great art style and that game is great itself.

True, but later after people actually played game become one of the most loved Zelda game and ended up with sale of 4.5m on small GC instal base, and today people think that WW art style and game itself are great.

No, game isnt hype only among Nintendo hardcore fans, its hyped among regular Nintendo fans too. And like I wrote those who are not very hyped (Nintendo and Zelda fans are very hyped), are very aware of Zelda U game.

Being launch game on system that will have big install base definitely make difference, and those things Zelda WW didnt had if we comparing sales of WW and TP.

Also handheld Zelda usually sales worse than home console Zeldas despite much bigger instal base.
