Yeah, Dave was supposed to be a member, it's kinda weird. Apparently Dimebag Darrell was offered the position of guitarist after Marty Friedman.

Dimebag was offered the position before Marty. And he took it but insisted Dave had to take his brother Vinnie as his drummer and Dave did not agree as they already found Nick Menza. Glad they didn't make that happen as Dimabg and Dave would not have meshed well.

Still, Dimebag is an awesome guitarist, I was lucky enough to see him a couple of weeks before he died. I have heard an old pantera cover of Black sabbaths song it's alright (sabbaths most underrated song) and that was really good, it's worth checking out.

@antfromtashkent
things could have turned out differently for both Dave and Dimebag...thats for sure.
Dave could have had someone to tell him "stop making pussy songs" in the late 90s.

And Dimebag could have still been alive and making music.

So I guess it could have worked for the better.

I used to be a huge Megadeth fan! I think Youthanasia was the last album of theirs that I really liked. I bought Cryptic Writings too but...yeah I stopped listening to them after that, haha. RIP and Countdown are my two favorite albums from them, but Killing and Peace Sells had some pretty good gems on them too. I don't really remember too much about So far, so good, so what... :-o
