^ Awesome sign! Smart to keep the number of monitors down and stylish too. Great idea with the underfloor wiring. I'm going to have some difficulty wiring that huge tower.

My supply line just came unhitched too. I'm in the middle of building and suddenly I'm out of steel. Maybe I forgot to reactivate the siren after rerouting the power. The switch was still on but you never know with this game. Re-activated for sure now. Guess I need a new recruit for the supply line.

The editor needs some work. It's very finicky for no apparent reason. I'm doing the same thing on each floor, yet on certain heights it won't snap. Figuring out the correct order to place the elements in becomes a huge sliding puzzle.

I'll probably have to do some more quests / supply runs. Recycle pencils, mobs and combination wrenches into a building.

Around the Network

Outside construction of tower 1 is complete, apart from the airplane lights.

The supply line came unhitched again. However fast travel to castle already solved it this time.
Less than 20% left on the size bar, gonna be close. Might have to use the glitch again to finish it.

The towers are looking really nice.  Really like that skywalk.  You should have a lot of fun with the wiring.

The snap thing with construction is just crazy.  That crows nest I have in the middle of my plaza is there because of that.  I had to move a couple sets of stairs to finish something else but when I tried to snap them back, they would not go.  At all.  I moved everything around them and tried all sorts of combinations.  Would not go back in place.  How does that even make sense?  In fact, nothing would go back in place.  Thankfully, I was prepared for that, and saved before I moved anything.  I guess it depended entirely on the original order I used and I would probably have to rip half the flooring up to get everything back the way it was.  I'm fine with the crow's nest, though, luckily.

I ran into the size limit while wiring up the place. Back to using the glitch to finish it. It was a fun puzzle getting the whole building covered. I put the cable under the main deck and used the relaxed clipping from the foundation blocks to get the wire inside where it laces through the inner core to the top.

And indeed, I had to reload too a few times because of things that wouldn't snap back in place. As well as move a lot of stuff around to get the walls closed. Lighting is halfway done, big undertaking. A quick count of my planned lighting scheme comes at at about 300 lights lol. There is a bug with the lights that they won't light the ground, the standard light bulbs hardly seem to do anything, only the industrial lights still light up the floors properly. So now I use a mix of high tech lighting for the look and industrial lights for light.

For now a random screenshot, the game can look like concept art at times.

The towers are finished. Time to relax. Well if you can call an even more uncomfortable romance relaxing.

Ove 10k steel and more than 300 lights later

More living space than a settlement will ever need

I forced these people to come over, apparently they survived the swim.

Crepescular

Ah those views, and fun to dive off of. It has that in common with TW3, you can survive a fall from any height, as long as you land in a few feet of water.

Time to focus on the story next. The game has been nagging me to go to the memory den for a while now and I even stumped Preston, he did not give me another settlement location to raid for materials.

Looks awesome.  Love the lighting and the little ground level gathering spot.  I've been thinking that I would increase the lighting on mine when I get more materials because it takes more than anticipated to achieve real brightness.

Some of my settlers go to the opposite end of the damn island and just stand around.  Argh.

Only put up a basic settlement at Murkwater because the ruins ruin the scenery (heh).  Wish I could scrap them.  Really good spots are hard to find.  I want to build up a military style outpost but most of the settlements just aren't great for building.

Otherwise, I haven't had much chance to play the last few days, other than venturing into the Glowing Sea for a storyline quest.

Post patch madness in Sunshine tradings corp

38 settlers complaining about having to share 11 beds and 2 water pumps, oops. I sent a whole bunch of them to Spectacle island which is now at 25 population. I don't know where they are though, I only see a couple. They might be standing at the other end of the island as well :/

I've arrived at the glowing too. Looks quite pretty.

That's ... a lot of settlers. Maybe their own settlement got raided and they left all at once. I actually haven't had any problems with the patch on PC at all. Nothing wacky has happened. I do think one of my recruitment beacons is bugged, though, so that it's off when it looks to be on. I'll see if anyone joins while it's "off".

I ran across a glitch that made me laugh, though it was probably only funny because I'd saved like five seconds before. I saw a suit of armor on a flat train car. It was in a half-cage, which was hooked to a terminal. I looked at it curiously and wondered why the terminal since there was no door. I went into the cage to look at the armor, saw that it was old type, and decided to leave it for another time. I turned around to leave and ... the magnetically locked door materialized out of thin air. I could not reach the terminal so I was locked in tight. The perfect trap! I've beaten Legendary Matriarch Deathclaws but a wire mesh cage was destined to be my final resting place and the end to my Fallout story. Curse you wire mesh!

^ Haha that's an unfortunate case of pop in. Refugees you say? It's possible, a settlement close to it was down to 2 population. Still doesn't add up to 38 though. I had a a weird case of instant death last night. The deathclaw scorpion was no where close to me, yet while walking towards it to take a shot I suddenly dropped dead. No visible cause. I didn't play much last night, too tired. I'm still exploring the glowing sea, pretty sneaky you can go off map there :)

Travelling with Valentine in the glowing see gives me a bit of a Tex Murphy Overseer vibe.

He even poses on screen like he's in 2D adventure game.

The plasma rifle is my go to weapon atm. very satifying sound and visual effects when firing.

Those deathclaw scorpions are lethal even from long range.  I had a deathclaw kill me solely because Deacon decided to step in front of the three shots that would have erased the tiny bit of life it had left.  I watched in VATS slo-mo while the top of his head sprayed blood then the deathclaw had me.  She did that fatality move from the trailer, first time I'd seen it.

I also had a very annoying experience last night.  Sommerville Place (or however it's spelled) was under attack.  No problem.  I teleported in ... right in the middle of a pack of Supermutant Primus, who immediately started lobbing grenades.  Took four attempts to beat them, as they all focus on me.  Nice.

I use a plasma sniper rifle.  My one big complaint is that the projectile speed is so low that moving targets can be a problem.  I'm disappointed in the .50 rifle.  It needs a buff.  Laser rifles probably need a buff, too.

Someone came up with the interesting idea of using signs to block out lightboxes. (https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3wcjyf/use_signs_to_block_out_parts_of_lightboxes_to_use/)

Also, I wonder if this guy gets any slow-down:
