NightStalker said: thank you for this post. some of your others annoyed me a bit, sorry =P. anywho, yes the PS3 is an amazing piece of machinery, but many people only can see the $600 price tag and not what it offers. I understand that for $600 I am getting an incredible deal, but to most people that isn't evident. It is also true that it is in fashion to hate Sony right now because they were being arrogant (tho i think it was just Kutaragi for the most part). However, I believe that soon enough, once the price drops and the big games hit, people will see what a great machine it is and it will start selling much better. Honestly, I will not be happy if MS takes over this generation. In my eyes they will ruin the industry, and force us all on PCs. So I'm hoping for Sony, along with Nintendo I guess, to pull through and get MS outta here. I think that will happen. Sorry that I'm not a fan of MS man. I've switched to a Mac and have seen the light. =D |
You wont have to worry about the Xbox 360 dominating the market. If the Xbox 360's sales continue to do as bad as they are in Japan, there is no way it will dominate the market, unless it does unbelievably well in other parts of the world, and Nintendo Wii flops somewhere along the line. The Playstation 3 might die, and Sony might be out of the console war, but Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii may battle it out until the end. Personally, I think Nintendo will be the last survivor. It has the most experience in the console business, and has two of the greatest franchises in the world (Mario and Zelda).
Anyways, the Playstation 3 is not expensive. Compare it to a flat screen TV, a lap top, a diamond ring, et cetera. It's not expensive at all. And, all you have to make is one payment. Then again, people these days are pretty cheap.
