In Japan the ps4 has only been out 1 year and 8 months and has only had 1 holiday season so far.  

It's had a great 2015 and 2016 is looking to be a big year for it. 

At the start of this year people would have considered hitting 2m by years end an OK result.  It's now done that with 6 weeks of the year remaining.  I wonder how much higher it will go in 2015.

Japan only accounts for about 1/9 ps3s sold so it's pretty similar this gen.

Yeah, and all comparisons with PS3 are unfair because it was oftenly bought as a Blu-ray player at first (more hardware than software was sold).

PS3 2009 (best year) vs. PS4 2016 will be interesting.
