I'll agree and predict FFVR wont be on NX and here's why....
SSB had Snake on the Wii version: No MGS game for Nintendo as of yet.
SSB has Ryu on the Wii U version: No Street Fighter for Nintendo as of yet. (and doesn't look to be)

SF is on Nintendo system of this generation though

Difference is that Cloud has never featured on a game on a Nintendo platform if I'm not mistaken? Whereas Snake and Ryu have both had a history on Nintendo.

Cloud has never been on a Nintendo platform whereas the others have.
I don't think anything is certain aside from SE likely "considering" it for the NX. If they're looking at it as a viable platform for DQXI, it wouldn't make sense to stop there. ALthough SE doesn't always make a ton of sense, i.e Kingdom Hearts 3 on Xbox One but no HD remixes appearing on the Xbox consoles

I believe Cloud was on a recent FF/Square game for the 3DS.
