Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Does the new Zelda HD (Wii U) looks better than E32014 as promised by Aonuma?

So, does it looks better than the E3 2014 teaser?

Yes 141 54.65%

No 70 27.13%

Hahahahahaha 47 18.22%

Total:258

Lol two completely different scenes! We can't compare from like a 2 second clip.

Show me the actual game being played looking like that first.

We already saw actual game last year at Game Awards, this basically looks same but better quality than that offscreen video.

Yes it does, and more than that it looks better than the HD Zelda tech demo from 2012 everyone loves to drool over. The art style is downright stunning, and when Nintendo gets a visual flair like that right, it trumps realistic graphics any day.

Legend of Zelda: Jaggies Festival

Link's face looks so strange.

I know, looks like a question mark to me

Looks beautiful and so many details on slow motion, like birds, goats, insects, flowers, eagles on the sky, and tent, towers, forest, mountain in distance..

It's clearly in engine footage. Zelda historically never used prerendered footage for cutscenes. It's a stylistic choice. That's how the game will look during gameplay.

I think people are seeing things when it comes to how the awards footage looked by comparison. This doesn't look any better than that. It's just virtical slice footage. The sheild even clips in this just like it did then. Aside from a boost in texture resolution shown with the sheild, nothing has been changed between this and that footage. The game always looked this good.

And it doesnt convince me.

Like any other game in exsistence, when you show me what clearly looks like gameplay then I will be all in. Until then, its just a nice video. Nothing more.

I am not saying it will not look like that. Just that I want to seeing it being played.

Video from Game Awards last year was clearly gameplay, this relly doesnt look difrent, exept this isnt offscren like that video from Game Awards.

I am merely commenting on what was shown in the Direct as stated in the OP's topic.

But sure that gameplay does look good albeit at a lower fidelity (work in progress I understand)

Yes but what is shownd in Direct and gameplay are basicly same thing, only difrence is that Game Awards gameplay is offscreen.

Looks celshaded similar TLG :p

Anyways, getting the Zelda TP Bundle - looks so gooood

I just hope we can use the pro controller instead of the gamepad/wiimote.

Lol, no it doesn't. TLG uses a muted pallet and only two tones like in WW. This uses a primary pallet and like 3-4 tones for shading.

Gamepad is already confirmed. No clue if they'll give an option, though. It's so baked into the design of the game.

...But that is how the game looks in gameplay. It's using the same assets.
