According to steam spy Tales of Zestria is around 85,000 and it launched on October 19.  It will probably be fairly close to around 100,000 sales within a month.  Considering how JRPG's are afairly new genre on Steam, would you consider that a success?  How do you think it will compare to NA and EU PS4 numbers?

I'm actually quite surprised that it has sold so well as it's also one of those games that I think will sell like hotcakes once the first Steam sale slashes the price on it.

Around the Network

It seems like more and more JRPG's and Japanese games in general get announced for Steam everyday, so the genre will probably start becoming more popular on Steam over time as it grows more.

I'm not sure if 85,000 is a good number for first month but it will probably sell well over time.

I´m one of those buyers and I regret about it. The game is mediocre, souless, extremely cliche, with bad graphics and with an uninteresting story that we have already heard 100 times. The only saving grace is a combat system that is nothing more than a copy paste of all the previous games, a cute artstyle (pretty bland though) and cool anime videos.

The reason is selling decently is because PC gamers are hungry of Jrpgs and this one, that is part of a famous jrpg saga, fills that void. But sadly PC only gets the mediocre ones like this or FFXIII several years later.

It was probably easy to port over from the PS4, 100k should easily cover the porting costs so yes its a success.

I'm quite interested in how its going to compare to the console sales, Should get the VGC numbers soon :)
