On a side note, why use Sheppard? Because after the events of ME3, how can he/she do that speech?

It's often said that "red" ending with complete military effective power is the canon ending (which is terrible imo). That ending in particular would allow Shepard to make a speech after the events of ME3

If that's the case, then I agree that it's a terrible ending to make it canon.

If green is the ending where Shepard fuses organic and machines, then yes. And you, which kind of guy are?

Just took the liberty of adding a qualifier there. IMO there is much about the previous Mass Effect entries that will be superior to NMS, and hopefully Andromeda will build on those things.

One thing NMS could evolve into is stand alone spin off games based in a single star cluster, once there have been enough worlds discovered and developed. It's an [effectively] endless universe out there and making stories out of small pockets of that universe is what will keep a game like this alive for years on end.

Why would a game need to be smaller in scale for it be better? Why can't a game world be the actual size of a world or much more and still have a good story?

What I meant with "NMS is likely to set a very high new bar for space games" is NMS will hopefully force devs that make games like mass effect (and devs that make open world games too) to build larger worlds/areas to explore or rather force the scale of those games to evolve further.  Just imagine being able to fully explore the "worlds" in a mass effect game or star wars game and have a quality story/rich gameworld. I think it's easily possible with games today but it's up to a dev(s) to set a new standard and make that push. Eventually, I think Hello Games will do that with their games. That might or might not be the case with NMS.  We'll find out though.

Who said anything about scale? I don't believe NMS will do anything to set any kind of bar for interplanetary epic RPGs. That's a type of space game. So far there's no scripted story I know of, and I thought that's the point of NMS. It's pretty much a blank canvas on which to paint your own story and have your adventures. So far as I can see the game mostly has scale and a sense of adventure as the principle compelling points of difference, I guess we'll see if it has anything else.

You're talking about scale there.

ugh. The tech used in NMS can be used in many diffrent genres. It could very likely set a new standard with game world's size. Scripted or not doesn't matter. I think there's much more to NMS.

I'm a screw these civilisations kinda guy let the Reapers take them all. I like to think that fits with Andromeda, and with this Shepard sign off. She/He's done what needed to be done and as the last act of defiance has helped to send an explorer ship with most most of the galactic species represented towards the Andromeda galaxy to keep those species alive while the Reapers reset the milky way.

While that doesn't sound bad, don't count that being canon by Bioware. Especially since the only choice that could kinda reflect that was added in a hurry on the new set of endings.

I'm more in the hope that this story of this involves previous ME games to a minimum. Back story only if that. New story, new characters, new races to fit the new setting.

Hmm, pie.

Not gonna lie, this teaser made me want to play No Man's Sky. I'm sure Andromeda will be cool too, but it's hard to be hyped when we've seen so little.

This probably hapens during the reaper war and they send the ship called ark to other galaxy, that is why shepard talks. All this based on rumours and leaks.

Pretty sure if the Reapers had a Mass Effect Relay attached to the nearest galaxy they would have made sure that was disabled first before invading. I don't think ME FTL drives would be able to make the journey without those in it dieing out unless in statis and even then 2.5 million light years means it all happens a long time after ME3.

... I'll over think it some more later.

Question, was it male or female voice in the trailer? Because female is better.

Hmm, pie.
