It looks really interesting and fun to me... but I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it. I never played Japenese role playing games before and they seem confusing. But since I watched some gameplay I have a clue what to do. I enjoy Zelda alot but not sure if Xenoblade is similar to Zelda? Never played Final Fantasy at all either. Will I like Xenoblade???

With your background, there's no way to know unless you try it. I'd personally recommend it.

Xenoblade is radically different from Zelda, I'd have to say.

As someone who is sorta a noob at RPGs, I throughly enjoyed Xenoblade.

The game does a good job at explaining how tonplay the game without a hefty amount of handholding, and I absolutely love the soundtrack and story.

I strongly recommend it.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Xenoblade is exactly like a MMORPG in gameplay, only single-player. So you get a somewhat boring and simple combat system, really boring side quests which are usually "kill X of this kind of monsters" or "get X item drops" and a nice story to motivate you to endure all the boring stuff.

Is this the first Xenoblade? If yes... then the answer is yes. I havent seen a single person who hasnt loved it. It delivers something that open worlds failed to do in the past: a really good story and characters.

I would point the only weak point as beeing the combat getting repetitive after a hundread hours, but everything in the game feel rewarding. Its definitly very enjoyable. Go for it.

I want to make an adendum to the above posters statement. Yes, there are some kill X quests, but these usually take you to areas that you havent explored yet and the discovery of those areas also unlocks further rewards. It didnt feel boring for me, but i can understand how it can. Since i was discovering a new portion of the map, it was never a problem for me.

Xenoblade is the best RPG on the Wii imo. You can't pass it up and call yourself a JRPG fan at the same time. Please, do yourself a favor and enjoy this gem.

Xenoblade should be a synonym for "Joy" ;)

Oh so false, the ability to see into the future adds a nice layer of depth and uniqueness to the combat system that you won't get in any mmorpg. Many side quests can be done during the main quest as you rarely have to return to the quest holder. The game never forces you to do them either.

It depends, if you can stand the combat system then you'll probably enjoy it, the story seems to be really good. Personally, I hated the auto-attacks and awful hit detection so much that I dropped the game after 5 hours, there is no point in enduring 100+ hours of a game if you dislike the gameplay.
