I don´t have high hopes but I do want the NX to be a success

I have a ton of things to say but I don´t feel like doing it right know, I may do a thread about it or I´ll share it in the official NX thread

Good, I'll read then when you post it.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I think Nintendo should (or they are) choose which games would sell to create. I dont think we will have everything in 1 console because the time frame for each gen is getting smaller. Especially how Nintendo is just 1 company. But well, theres no point of complaining. The Wii U and the 3DS era is ending and a new CEO has taken the reign. Who knows what direction they are heading next.

Edit: If we learnt anything this gen is that Advance Technology, Great Marketting and Third Party will bring success. IMO that is.

Pocky Lover Boy!

My biggest issue with Nintendo games currently, is that they seem to have lost the ambition to make an amazing game. This may be them maximizing profits from the wii u, but it still hurts their fan base.

Every game coming out/released by Nintendo either
1) comes out playing it safe (mario kart, NSMBU, mario 3d world)
2) is low on content (pikmin and to a lesser extent, splatoon)
3) has potential that never gets fully drawn out (mario maker, Nintendoland)
4) looks to be outshined by competitors (Xenoblade X vs fallout 4/ the witcher 3, Zelda U vs Horizon)
5) sacrifices graphics/story/gameplay/exploration for forced "uniqueness" or gimmicks (starfox, Mario party 10)

The 3ds isn't so bad but the wii u has been pretty bad. Smash bros U is the only Nintendo wii u game that I can say, without a doubt, matches the quality of previous smash games (or any Nintendo classic). If it meant that they needed help from the SoulCal team, then good job Sakurai for organizing that.

I want Nintendo to go back to making the best games (mario 64, ocarina of time, mario galaxy, metroid prime), or to shake up the competitve gaming scene (smash melee), or to set the precedent to how games are made (super mario bros, mario 64, pokemon)

Man, I hope they come back for NX. Nintendo can be epic again. They just have to want it for themselves. They have the IP, they just don't want to move forward with the IP to match today's expectations. I will admit that games like Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon have proven themselves worthy of current gen but it's like everything else is just not being used to the fullest. Wii U was a strange little period for Nintendo but I think it helped them find themselves a bit more. Here's to hoping that NX comes out guns a blazing with a real 3D Mario, Metroid, and Zelda.

What about Xenoblade, Bayonetta 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening etc.?

Bayonetta 2 was published, but Platinum made whetever they wanted, unlike Retro with Metroid. On the other hand, Xenoblade is from the last gen and FE:A as much as I love, not all the fans of the series like it.

And what games are etc?

You know Nintendo put their own Directors, Producers and Supervisors on Bayonetta 2? Nintendo had very much influence on Bayonetta 2.

Xenoblade was 2011/2012, so it's almost this Gen. And Xenoblade Chronicles X, a current Gen Game, is also epic.

etc are Games like Splatoon, Tropical Freeze, Kid Icarus: Uprising, A Link Between Worlds and Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS.

Nintendo helped bayonetta 2 development, but they themselves are not the core of it. This is the reason why we don't blame Nintendo for making the mess that is Devil's third (their publishing decision were questionable though).

Every time I make this point people get mad and tell me I'm not a real Nintendo fan. There have been some fun games this gen, but very little that's amazing and that instills a sense of wonder. It's all just small and fun. Solid, but not spectacular.

I'm sorry, but no 2D platformer is EVER going to make me feel the same way Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime did. There's a certain spirit that's always been present in Nintendo's systems that's just not on the Wii U.

Look at metacritic and ratio pr console.. They still make high quality games..
(and many.. much more than other companys in top 20 every week)

But I do think the focus is shifted to what ever they come up with next.. And truly new 3d Mario or new unik games are being moved (most likely only posible on) to... "NX"

Of course they are not the core, because Platinum was. But the same thing you can also say about Metroid Prime: they helped but most of it was done by Retro.

And it is also Nintendo's fault that Devil's Third became what it became.
