Retro is not Nintendo now?

Not in my eyes. It is like a western bastard child that a japanese exec had on a trip th the US lol.

It's the odd one out. why isn't there like 2-4 more western Nintendo owned studios?

retro (and next level games to a much smaller degree), is Nintendo's golden egg for the western market.

Retro's games are always of high quality regardless of the system they work with (metroid prime trilogy, dk country returns/tropical freeze).

They could have just as easily have become the equivalent of Sony's Naughty Dog. Too bad Nintendo isn't as trustworthy with them to let that happen

Games don't have to be "epic" to be great.

Heck, I think games like Splatoon are pretty epic, even if it's not on the same scale of games like Metroid.

I've never implied that not being epic is the same as being bad. My question is where is the Nintendo that can develop epic games like that. Never said Nintendo games are bad.

Retro made the first Metroid, and I think some things happened with the internal staff, so... yeah. Something happened there.

I always did feel once you go into space, there isn't much left to go, except do it again I guess, which they did with Galaxy 2. Do a 3 I guess...? The only thing left for them to do is Time... B^) Do that Nintendo.

A new Paper Mario would be nice to have also.

They are bussy doing Animal Crossing: Amiibo nonsense, Mario Tennis: Ultra boring and Metroid Prime: Chibi robot galactic soccer irrelevant edition.

Xenoblade chronicles, xenoblade chronicles X, hyrule warriors, fire emblem awakening and Fates, super smash bros wii u, tropical freeze, a link between worlds, kid icarus uprising list goes on. all those games are preatty fu**ing epic to me

Do you liked the games on the OP?

I can't wait to play Xenoblade X and Fates, but I wouldn't put Hyrule Warriors, FE: A, SSBU, ALBW in the same basket as the one I mentioned. To me, those games are Nintendo as its finest. I've never seen in any other game, from any company, so much love and effort put than in those games. The SMG soundtrack is one the best musical pieces I ever heard.

m8, metroid prime 1 is my second fave game of all time and metroid prime trilogy is like a damn master artoiece to me, super mario galaxy 1 and 2 are also great. but the games i mentioned are also epic. xenoblade chronicles is hands down one of the best video games ever, and i think X will be just as epic. hyrule warriors may not be a masterpiece but i still think its epic, same as ALBW is like classic aLttP but even more epic. kid icarus uprising is also in my top 10 video games. fantastic music. and then there is tropical freeze. ahhh how much i love that game. one thing nintendo always does right is the music and its still too notch quality

Well, yes those are fillers, but I have high hopes that with the NX they come back.

What about Xenoblade, Bayonetta 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening etc.?

Bayonetta 2 was published, but Platinum made whetever they wanted, unlike Retro with Metroid. On the other hand, Xenoblade is from the last gen and FE:A as much as I love, not all the fans of the series like it.

And what games are etc?

You know Nintendo put their own Directors, Producers and Supervisors on Bayonetta 2? Nintendo had very much influence on Bayonetta 2.

Xenoblade was 2011/2012, so it's almost this Gen. And Xenoblade Chronicles X, a current Gen Game, is also epic.

etc are Games like Splatoon, Tropical Freeze, Kid Icarus: Uprising, A Link Between Worlds and Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS.

I've been asking for a new and different IP and we got Splatoon. I can't complain. Sure, they could do more, but that's definitely a great step to the right direction as far as I'm concerned.

Here's a man with great sense of appreciation :)
