Forums - Gaming - Konami confirms closure of Kojima Productions Los Angeles studio

Silent Hills Cancellation can be explained as Budgetary Concerns

The confirmation of Kojima Productions clossure was also asserted by a Japanese VA for the game in that same article

"Inside sources" claim Kojima is leaving, Konami says he is still an employee and on Vacation.

Other "evidence" is unrelaible/dubious at best

Objections? A couple:

Konami's statements don't directly contradict the Inside Source that is, Kojima can still be on the way out even if he is still an employee currently, they haven't said anything about renewing his contract yet.

None of this explains why his Kojima productions was removed from the box art. Even if they where preparing to close down the studio, it wouldn't make sense to that after the fact let alone in lieu of it.

I asked for objections, not a bunch of half off-topic justifications ...

@Bold Yet he's still currently registered as an employee at Konami NOW and I didn't raise a damn about his contract been renewed in the future ...

Because no company has ever lied for the sake of good PR. As long as they warp the story well enough, we'll probably end up hearing about how Kojima chose to leave Konami on good terms in a month or two. They'll try to get a good PR cleanup for this entire mess because that is exactly what a company does when something has landed them in hot water.

I mean, c'mon, we just had the Vita PR debacle what, a week ago? PR is a game of making sure the company is viewed in a good light. If that means twisting around facts a bit to achieve a more favorable image, then so be it.

Do you have ANY proof that Konami is lying ?

They're a company that has completely boned their public image. If this isn't PR cleanup work, I would be astounded. The fact that you take Konami at their word baffles me more than anything else.

I'm just as skeptical as anyone here is around Konami ...

What we don't need here is a group of conspiracy theorists derived from mob rule going around thread crapping ...

Konami's statement remains unchallenged until proven otherwise ...

For a moment there I thought they were going to cancel MGO for PC, I'd have gotten pretty livid if that were the case. That said these months of waiting better damn well be worth it when they do decide to launch it in Jan.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

How do you know for sure, this whole KojimaGate is filled to the brim with FUD.

Any objections ?

The point he was making is Konami has been contradicting themselves throughout this entire debacle. Their word is worthless.

Excellent. Wrapping up all loose ends before Sony announces they've signed Kojima as a 1st party developer at PSX next month!

(I kid...but wouldn't that be a megaton?)

Then Prove it!

I'll take konami's words over anyone else's since practically no one is giving any evidence to show for it ...

Too bad

Yet we're suppose to believe Kojima is on vacation? Yea right.
