Forums - Sony - It's been 10 years since the last Team ICO game came out.

Well, SOTC is one of the best games ever made so.... But how does a developer survive for such a long time without releasing anything?

Because Team Ico is not a development studio. They are a division within the SCE Japan Studio. That is why they can spend eight, pushing on towards nine years on a single game without really affecting much of anything in a negative way.

I found Shadows of the Colossus very boring, but I only had the chance to play it years later as the HD version on ps3. The controls were awkward and the game was empty and honestly not fun to play.

Stop judging it! It's supposed to be empty because it's art! ART!!

Seriously though, it took me three years to finish it. The world, the expansive empty deserts, the lush green vistas and the the nature of the colossusessesss had an arcane feel to them. It was a ballsy move from Team ICO to make something like that, but mechanically it was just a dull game.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

2 of the best games ever made right there in just a couple of years...
If TLG is able to stand next to them then 10, 20 or more years is worth the wait

They might have not yet released another game but on the other hand none of the thousands of games that have released since then were able to beat them. Ueda ain't even mad

Imagine the complete opposite from your post and you have mine.

"I found Ico very awesome, but I only had the chance to play it when it released on Ps2. The controls were tight and the game was full and, to be dishonest with you, not boring to play"

I think the complete opposite isn't working...

Nah man, you didn't take the opposite of not (the 4th last word). If you do that, it still works out for him.

The way I see it, SotC was never praised for its gameplay mechanics. It was an experiment that ended up being more an amazing experience than a game. It's one of those "love it or hate it".

This is like DNF. The longer it takes the better it's gonna get.

Even if it's not praised for its gameplay mechanics, I can't praise a game that's boring to play. xD

How can fight colossal beings be boring?

It felt like a chore, especially when one is struggling with the controls. I had more fun taking on the colossi in Castlevania: Lords of Shadows.

Well, that's why they say not every game has to be for everyone :P I don't know how someone can find fights in this game boring
