Too fast and smooth for you? I know where you're coming from. 30fps is much more cinematic and fun. |
Just too much of a hassle. Also, truth is, if consoles died, many studios will die with them.

Name another new game that runs worse on PC then it does on consoles. |
Which PC are you talking about here? Yours or someone else's?
| zero129 said: You know well what im talking about. Daredevil names Batman Arkham Knight, one game that runs bad on everyones PC's no matter the specs, But id still love you to answer the question too and name me one other game that runs worse on everyones PC then it does on consoles.. |
You fell into his trap, hhes now going to list of games that run bad for people on their crappy spec graphics cards and laptop GPUS.

And yet Consoles are more like PC's today then ever.. Gone are the days of poping in a game and having it start up. ~Now start system put in game>come to system menu>Select game> Download system update> Download Patch for game etc. Exactly whats not fun about PC gaming compared to console gaming?. Its not fun having the best looking games? its not fun being able to play so many classic console games in HD thanks to emulation?, Its not fun being able to download extra mods and maps that can extend the life of your fav games by years and completly change them?, its not fun having the largest Indie community in gaming and so many great games to choose from??. |
It's not fun playing on the thing you use all day for work. Too distracting too with the 'world' only one alt-tab away.
Which is also why I'm baffled why MS would want the XBox One interface to look like standard windows. Luckily I'm still dead set on a tile free environment on PC so that association is safe for now.
I have Armikrog running since it came out, still sitting in the background, always another distraction taking me away from it. But I must say windows has come a long way, 8.1 is very stable. (Although the automatic updates broke since it started pushing Windows 10, hence no reboots, ugh some other day)

Im pretty sure they would find markets on other devices, Im also pretty sure that no matter what the fans say the biggest half of them would follow them games if they went to pc only. |
I doubt that. Gaming is mainstream now thanks to consoles. Many people like those with a family will just look for another hobby. Unless of course, companies like Valve make consoles, which they're started attempting to do.

I have to admit, while i overall prefer PC gaming, i do run into this issue quite frequently. The longer I've spent working on my PC on any given day, the harder i find it to get into a relaxed frame of mind while gaming on it. That's usually when i start up a console.

Why does it have to be everyone's PC? Not all PCs are the same.
| zero129 said: No it is true. Clearly you didnt have a clue what you where doing and so you found it hard and feel like the was a lot of extra stuff you needed adding "Extra" costs. Clearly you didnt do enough research but its good you at least tried (Id like some pics of your pc build) . Like you make it out to look like a Keyboard and Mouse and dvd drive and a Wifi (Something you dont need unless you want it) are expensive. You can get an OS such as Windows 7 for like €20-30, KB+Mouse for like €15-20, if you want a wifi dongle they are like €10-20 and a DVD drive can be got for like €15-30. so even at their most expensive the total comes to €100 on top of whatever the PC build is. Now already you have a system that didnt cost you much more then a PS4 or X1 and can do so much more its not even funny. Plus why its cheaper is long run costs, like others have said its a stigma thinking you need to upgread every 1 or 2 years and thats total bullshit that Console fanboys (Id imagine its ok to say this since PC elitiest is used in this very thread by the OP a number of times) like to say.. PC games have settings for a reason. So yes PC gaming is cheaper. And no PC fan says its a good idea to Build a PC to the exact specs of the PS4 or X1, but you can build one that wont cost you much more then one of them systems would cost if you wanted something cheap for now that can play all the games out now at this moment looking better then both of them systems and then if it came a thing in a year or 2 that the was something you couldnt play looking as good all you have to do is upgrade the GPU to a better one with the money you saved on games plus free online gaming and you can once again destory both consoles in terms of power. So no one told you lies, the was no hidding costs, just cos you found it hard for your first time building one doesnt mean it "IS" Hard. Clearly anything is hard the first time you do it. |
My issue is that some people mislead others to think that you can the price you pay for a console can be spent cheaper for a better performing PC. That's not true, not from the ground up anyway. Like another poster said, I was just put in a situation where I was at at a disadvantage to build something like this because I used a laptop for years.
Because of that, lowering the cost was harder as the laptop pretty much had everything I needed (a screen, an OS, keyboard, Wi-Fi receptor and other fun gizmos). Some people may not need a Wi-Fi dongle, but under my circumstance I needed one because of how my house is setup. That said, after my initial investments, I know my next upgrades won't be too expensive as I already have the core things and only need to switch a component or two if I ever feel like my gaming isn't up to par with my expectations or desires.
I 100% admit that my lack of research and foresight led me to spend more on my rig, but I'm just giving the perspective of as a person who played video games on consoles all his life who's attempting to jump on PC building. I really do find a lot of the things I've read to be misleading and that the barrier entry is hard. I really don't think that PCs are as easy to build as Lego.
About the having to buy a monitor/TV. I only have a 42 inch screen TV that would have been compatible with my PC. I don't want to use something so large to read things and do desk work when I'm not gaming (I still intend to use this for work purposes). If I wanted to play videogames or movies? Sure, maybe get a wireless keyboard and mouse and play long range, but I also want to use my PC for work purposes too and something that big is overkill for me.
About that games cost more on consoles is not as true as some say. I went into 7th gen kind of late and had many game I wanted to play and then I bought a laptop that went a little higher that 7th gen and thought to buy lots of steam games for cheap. This was so not true. Most AAA games where cheaper on consoles for me and I got a disc that could be resold. Another thing that makes the games cheaper, even the old games whas the eventual collectors edition, game of the year edition, complete editions and all thouse, they offered all dlc for a cheap price and steam never used to do this. I remember looking into skyrim, red dead, gta, bioshock, devil may cry, final fantasy and many others and found that ordering from amazon for ps3 was always cheaper.
Unless you are comparing digital console games, wich are more expensive than retail counterpart for some stupid reason, but I like physical disc so that was never an issue.
Im guesssing you could wait for steam sales, but they always had games I had no interest in playing. and if you missed a sale you wanted then you are screwed.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Actually, with the PS4, it's all done in the background but you're still not going to run into issues running the game. There's a plethora of issues that you could run into with a PC.
What's not fun about gaming on a PC (other than the library missing games that I want):
- constant fiddling with drivers, settings, etc.
- frequent upgrades required.
- requires extra space to set up the desktop, monitor, input devices.
- having to play with kb/m in MP just because everyone else is.
