I think it's far more likely that the game will just be announced in the next week, which would warrant its listing on the eShop (but not for immediate purchase).

I imagine the game would release early 2016, similar to how MM3D was announced/released in a 4 month timespan.

If I've understood correctly, he also datamined the Nintendo Update Server from the eShop, that's how she saw the ID of Twilight Princess HD.

It seems unlikely though I hope it's somehow right.

But like you said I have no idea how they would know about a Direct. There's not even anything announced right now so it's insanely short notice if so.
