Forums - Gaming - ATLUS has a 3DS eshop sell: I'm going to buy Devil Survivor Overclocked or SMTIV

Better start?

OVERCLOCKED 8 34.78%

SMTIV 15 65.22%

Total:23

Dilemma dilemma, I dont have enough space for SMTIV. I need about 3900 more hundred blocks. I delete every piece of SW plus my Streetpass Mii Plaza data I may just make it or I could get overclocked but I'm not ready for another strategy game.

No no no, don't delete your StreetPass Mii Plaza data, I might StreetPass you someday.

You do realize you could redownload software, right? So you can buy Overclocked then just download it again later.

Then get IV. You may not like the story, however, and expect to die countless times in Naraku.

I really want SMTIV but I dont have room. I have more than enough space for Overclocked but If I had known it was a strategy game I wouldn't have even made the thread, SMTIV automatically.

What's Soul Hackers?

Oh, you don't have room...

Soul Hackers is a remake of the second entry of Devil Summoner, I believe. I haven't played it yet so I can't say a lot.

SMT IV is only $20 on Amazon you know. That's only $5 more than getting it digitally.

I have yet to get Soul Hacker's but it is essentially just a first person dungeon crawler as opposed to Third person like SMT IV.

Atlus constantly has sales which is why I never buy anything for full price, but with those prices, you can't go wrong with either

I would go for SMT IV personally. Great game though it can be a bit difficult at times (so some grinding might be in order). The story isn't too bad and the game gives you a good amount of stuff to do.

Overclocked is more for you if you favor SRPGs like Fire Emblem and the like.

The tone of both games is pretty dark just like many Atlus games. But I prefer the dialog in SMT IV moreso.
The tone of SMT IV is also pretty far from your standard "anime" fare as well. Sure the characters might say some cliché things from time to time but which game doesn't?

Grinding is absolutely not necessary in IV. I beat the whole game without grinding once, and I'm pretty sure beat the game while significantly under leveled.  Grinding isn't even useful in that game because of the way demon fusion works, and how every demon only learns like two attacks within like the first five or so levels of obtaining them before they effectively become useless and need to be fused away. SMT IV is literally an anti-grind game.

Hm maybe I just sucked haha

Ah well but more so than levelling up fusion really is the name of the game so don't get too attached to demons if you plan on picking up SMT IV OP.
