Oh yeah, I almost forgot the most important phrase I'm sick of seeing... when comparing sales numbers, people always use the highly encompassing term "win".  It's trite, inaccurate because it generalizes such a bigger picture and only serves to help people climb on pedestals.

Oh my, definitely this. This is not a sport, there is nothing to actually win.

"PC gaming is expensive"
"PC gaming is only for nerds"
"PC gaming only has MMO's, MOBA's and RTS's"
"PC gamers are all filthy pirates"
"PC gamers never pay for anything"
"PC gamers wait for everything to come to them"
"PC gamers have no AAA games"
"PC has no games"
"PC only has indies"
"PC gaming has a smaller audience"
"PC gaming is dead"
"PC gaming is niche"

That's about all I can think off the top of my head from various trips to youtube, to other forums and sites and here of course.

And yes they still continue to be said daily by misinformed folk.

Probably not as common as people saying that PC gaming is superior and has overtaken console gaming,

Not really, I find the misinformed to be 10X more common than idiot folk who deliberately want to troll others and besides the latter has often been said about PC gaming for years that consoles will always overtake PC gaming in terms of everything, I've actually seen that flaunted around a lot more often than you like to think for the opposite.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

This is probably a surprise to no one, but I love NX threads.

Especially the ones that don't start off as NX threads, but devolve into NX threads. Those are my favorite kind of NX threads.

Stealth NX threads, I like to call them.

I also love when people say that "we know next to nothing about the NX yet." So silly. So cute.

I'm fed up of forum users over-analysing comic books. They're just pictures and words that don't have any deep meaning!

That's bullshit.

"This gen will be shorter than the previous ones." I don't see it as often lately though.

What are your favourite horror games? Did you liked Soma?

Ironically games that dont even set out to be horror titles, LSD (PS), Shadow tower (PS), Shadow tower 2 (PS2) things like that.

I find games are most effective at setting a tone when they arent all out trying to do so.

Thief games aren't horror games, but they can have scary levels: in Thief III Deadly Shadows, Robbing the Cradle was a very scary level, and unlike other levels in the game, that despite not bad, show that they had to be split in two parts during late parts of development, in The Cradle they managed to blend almost seamlessly that flaw with the plot, at least in the first part when you explore the outer part of the orphanage/asylum for the first time, before starting the generator. Return to the Cathedral in Thief I The Dark Project was quite scary too, and the whole series has scary moments and levels when played at maximum difficulty, which makes more of the essence to avoid detection, pushing the players themselves to increase their tension. In the series, only zombies suddenly awakening are pesky scare jump moments, and they are almost universally hated by the fans (so that they were almost completely removed from the second game of the series, while in the third they have very little space).

I'm currently playing through Thief on my PS4 and the mental asylum part was genuinely tense and scary for me. Good game.

The patents only reveal like 1% of what we know about the NX.
