Its going to be $299 max and nothing more.

Either way they have a price advantage for good based VR.
Samsung Gear is cool to try out, but the quality of the headsets are pretty weak.

I'm sure bundles will push it over but I have little doubt that you'll at least be able to buy a version of it for under $300 and you're right, it will be the cheapest way to get into higher end VR.

I actually have really enjoyed the time I've gotten to spend with Gear VR. The origional version is what sold me on VRs potential. Though you are right that the quality isn't up to the standard set by standalone VR headsets.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Yeah, just like Blu Ray was cheap and supported from the beginning.

Blu Ray actually did have pretty good support early on, primarily from Sony and the PS3. It certainly wasn't cheap though.

With the PSVR event just around the corner (4 days!) I wanted to bump this thread and see how things are shaping up so far.

So, I'm 2/3 on my games prediction so far, now that Dreams and...well, the next GT game, have announced PSVR support. We've also seen more evidence to support my two game type idea about PSVR support, with games like Ace Combat 7, and Tekken 7 being VR compatible.

Considering the recent news that Shu was "Surprised" by the price of the Rift, and that Sony recently said that PSVR would be "affordable" I think I have a pretty good chance of being right about the price.

To make it successful, it needs lots of sales

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
