Forums - Gaming - Microsoft Promotes (Hilariously BAD!) Halo 5 on UFC 192

So you two are sweating at the idea a great game will release and be enjoyed by the fans but you would fap together if that company closed doors leaving their fans with nothing... lollll...

Ok it's late I laugh at anything but this is as sad as the tweets...

Weird. It's almost as if you didn't read my reply.

You are right... didn't see it.

Just read the comments before your reply and yea that was kind of ackward so I had to point it out. Maybe my sense of humor is bad haha!

I'm just trying to understand all of this. The one thing I've always said is that MS know how to advertise and promote their brand but just lately something just doesn't feel right.

That's hardly part of the campaign though. Some tweets... Halo 5 campaign has been stellar up til now but this just provide a good laugh imo. Someone messed up but it's not like they messed up the videos or the new Chief is dead advertizing...

It like one of those things that people tell you is bad, but then you get in the thread and its so much worse.

True story. This is a train wreck caused by two other train wrecks.

Idk what's worse, the typically cringe worthy stuff marketing comes up with for people to say in ads or some of the responses in the thread and insight into what it means for MS LOL. Nevermind all the other marketing for Halo 5, which has been huge. Nevermind a world premier commercial during Sunday Night Football last week. This tame marketing ploy using UFC fighters, that signifies a smaller investment in marketing by MS. And more so, a potential packing up of the division as they shut down console business and switch to PC. Oh and it also explains why they're "hiding" Xbox numbers in another division.... even though Xbox has always been lumped with other stuff and it's always been impossible to tell what it's doing exactly. I have seen the light.

It reminds me of one of the threads we had here when ASM2 was supposedly delayed at retail or maybe not coming at all and lots of people were convinced that "it was beginning" and this was but the first of many canceled games and end of support from companies for the Xbox One. It is hilarious to read though.

The tweets by a wide margin.

I had to reread your comment but yes, you  make total sense.   I think honestly, the mistake that their marketing maes is thinking that their fanbase at large and the Halo fanbase are a bunch of agro teen boys.  Its not.   I think that Halo opening movie is all the advertising they need.  Microsoft is rich but being so means that they can go for those 'throw everything at it and hope somethig sticks' advertizing campaigns.   They need to slow down and be more surgical with their marketing.  Sony are MASTERS at it.
