This game seems to be flying under everyone's radar but I'm here to tell you why you should be ashamed of not playing it

Kitten Squad was released last week on PSN looking like f2p shovelware but underneath the cover you'll find a deep, moving experience, emotional experience, the likes of which MGS5 can't compare to.

So what is this game all about? You play as a cat, and receive quests from other friendly animals. But these are not shallow, repetitive fetch quests. It's about saving other animals in peril, and you get a touching back story to truly motivate you for your quest. Never, in any minute of playing this game, will you ask "why am I doing this?". The suffering of your rescue targets will be burned into your brain that whole time. It's a riveting tale of kinship and life lessons.

The impact of the story carries down to the gameplay. It's a top down room-based shooter (ala TBoI) where you fight all those who oppress the freedom of animals. Fittingly, these enemies are robots, symbolising the lack of empathy, of feeling, hell, even portraying  their daily life routine. But as a game that prouds itself in spreading love, you do not kill or commit real acts of violence. Your  various weapons use different harmless ammo such as carrots, tomatoes, yarn balls, death rays of electricity and huge exploding rockets.

It'll leave you crying and asking pertinent questions. It's the kind of experience only a videogame can bring you, which is quite rare.

I downloaded it both because it was free, and because it looked like i'd actually enjoy it. Going to give it a spin, when i'm done enjoying Grow Home.
