Not much more to say there. I want Mario Maker with the 3D world assets. Cubes instead of tiles. As soon as I thought of it, I got excited. I literally don't care at all about Super Mario Maker, but give me the same concept with 3D World assets instead, and I'm buying it day 1.

He probably wants a game with good gameplay. ;)

With all due respect to LBP, as a platformer it's pretty terrible.

will all due respect you're wrong.  the lvls MM built were fantastic,.. only the user generated stuff was crap.  ...and either way you should show more respect because from 4 player platforming to user generated content the last few mario platformers has been straight out copying LBPs innovations on the genre.

also, that link is to dreams not LBP.

The controls and physics in LBP are trash, has nothing to do with user generated content. Dreams will likely be even worse considering it's 3D. SMM didn't copy LBP at all. The UI and ease of the editor are much better in SMM. The shadows of Mario help greatly in making great platforming levels as does the fact you can switch between play and building very fast.

LBP didn't invent 4 player platforming, lol.

Just going to say this anybody who calls LBP physics "trash" more than likely never played it or went in with the wrong mindset. LBP and Mario are very close in terms of quality (I do give 2D Mario a small edge. 3D Marios arent even close to LBP imo)

Mario and LBP couldn't be further apart from each other. I'm 100% sure you never played a Mario game after saying this.

The physics and controls couldn't be much more different. The difference is big and Mario is the far better platformer.

Doing this on LBP would be a nightmare lol.

LOL! That is all I can say

Fans. How can a good thread can be destroyed in matter of seconds.

Comparing Mario against LBP is to compare Quake against Counter Strike, as a platformer, they are in completely different sub-genre.

LBP's highly floaty, delayed-response physics is an intentional design choice, not trash. Not every platformer needs to be snap control Mario. LBP picked physics that fits its aesthetic and goal as a family and creation  game, not a direct platforming challenge like Mario, Super Meat Boy, and many other platformers.

That said, 'lol' isn't an argument.

Going back to actual topic of 3D Mario Maker, it is possible for Nintendo to create tool that uses flat 2D surface and place chunk of already designed level piece. This will reduce the amount of flexibility on user end, but it will increase simplicity drastically.
