Sure. Like in the video game industry that has been accused to be sexist. So, why when we take a look at the indie developers there are not many women either? The SDK are too manly for their sentitivity? The truth is that technical IT is a field chosen mostly by men. What is the sex distribution in the IT and engineering fields in the Universities?

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand what you mean nor what it has to do with the paragraph I wrote.

I intended to say that in the IT industry, the one we are talking in here, I personally haven't seen any discrimination. It's a male dominated environment simply because fewer women choose that field. And between the few many have got promoted. So yes, it is black and white. Still I keep reading that it is a sexist environment.
I realize now you were talking in more general terms (sorry, it's quite late here) but still my impression is that although sexism does (and always will) exist, the discrimination is another thing. If we are talking about salary gaps in big corporations like MS those are not really possible. Because there are seniority levels, and each level has a salary range.
Indeed I've found an interesting report about the best 25 tech industries for women that confirms what I just wrote:
http://uk.businessinsider.com/best-tech-employers-for-women-2014-11?op=1
With no surprise MS is there.
I just know that when in a big company one in a team of 20, 30 or even 100 people gets promoted or publically recognized for the work done many colleagues are pist off, because they feel they were better. So a common feeling is "why him/her? I did much more!". WIth the difference that when it's a guy getting the promotion some may dismiss it as a case of brown nosing, some women think "I'm better, I deserved the promotion. But I'm a woman, he is a man ERGO the company is sexist!".
