- HD remake announced by SEGA in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Yakuza franchise.

- January 1st, 2016 release (Japan)

- will contain new scenarios, updated visuals, and "user friendliness"

- SEGA said during the Sony TGS stage that the PS2 kept the first Yakuza from being all it could be lolz
