I like the physical design of the Vita,so other than replacing the touch pads with actually L2/R2 buttons, I'd keep it pretty much the same.

Other than that though, I'd like to see some big hardware changes. Mostly I think Sony should just use components from it's smartphones for it. Just throw Z3 hardware in it, give it a 720P LED screen, a 4000/4500 ma battery and a slick, PS4-esque ui.

I'd like to see it have 32 gb of internal storage with Micro SD support, and the option of 4G LTE data.

My perfect PS console would be the size of a smartphone. It would have a data plan and be digital only. It would have the AAA type experience the Vita was supposed to have, specifically with the first party games, only made to be consumable in short bursts for a more consumable experience.

But most importantly, it would have an extremely good app service for things like Netflix, kindle, and and the Internet browser. That's why the PSP sold well and that's why the vita is selling like crap. The iPhone took away it's portable multimedia gimmick.

Here's another out there idea I just thought of.

Call it the PsRetro.

It supports Ps1 and Ps2 disk based games. If actually plays the disk.

Same control and button scheme as the dualshock. Possible rumble support. Plays all PSP/Vita games via downloadable.

If possible for a handheld, Ps3 disk based support. 6 inch or so screen. Online capability to that of the Ps3.

If no ps3 support, you could launch it right away. Maybe 200-250.

If ps3 disk support, I'd think a possible 2018 launch. Same price.

I'm kind of sick of the half assed ps1/ps2 support. Like just build a device to support the disks.

It would have twin sticks (with R3/L3), four shoulders buttons, the face buttons, Dpad, Touchscreen, Options, Share, and PS. It would be running a Vita-like OS and would be capable of running any PS2, PS1, PSP, or PSV game on the PlayStation Store. It would have 16gb flash storage and would accept SD cards of up to 256gb. It would be touted as the premier Remote Play product, and would come in 4G and WiFi flavors. The overall design would be more controller-like.

Its killer app wouldn't be one game, but all kinds:

Killzone
God of War
Sly Cooper
inFAMOUS
Bloodborne
Demon's Souls
Uncharted
etc.

Sony would need at least one exclusive from each of these games.
