Not even close. 40-50k is achievable FW but it will go back to sub 20k the week after.

It's sad it has to be explained when it was literally laid out for you, but I'll take a shot.
People predicted 20-30K of a game, whose last numbered installment hit 77K on launch. It's fair to assume it will sell more than 20-30K. Not a certainty, but at least a reasoned prediction.

I'm not denying it can sell over 30k FW, but that 77k from the previous installment is irrelevant, since mgs5 will sell much less. basically, bmaker11 is probably overestimating the sales push.

Going to have to disagree. Basing predictions on past performances, is...pretty much how predictions work. Otherwise, where's your basis for 20-30K? Where's the basis for 18K? Why hasn't everyone just said 1?
You're also assuming that he meant it would sell 77K or more. Not that he was just pointing out that 20-30K seems a tad low for a pretty well-respected franchise in Japan.
I think 50k PS4s sold in Japan during MGS week is fairly reasonable. It's still out on PS3 after all.

except that this time it's clear that the past release will greatly outsell the new istallment.I'm not assuming he is predicting 77k+, but throwing that number randomly suggests he expects a huge increase that probably won't happen.
