If you play the GTA games, I highly suggest you hack your PSP and play the ROMs. You can still buy the game so that Rockstar gets its well-deserved cash but the load times on the UMD versions are bloody obnoxious and come close to ruining the experience.

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops - Pretty fun game. Multiplayer is pretty good, better than the PS2 one.

Also I suggest getting Jeanne D'Arc and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, if you like SRPG.

Killzone liberation is arguably one of the best games on the system.

I would agree with a lot of what was already listed

Both Wipeout games (Pulse / Pure)
Killzone: Liberation
MGS:PO
Lumines
Both Syphon Filter Games (DM / LS)
Daxter
GOD of WAR: CoO
Ace Combat X is a great flight sim
LocoRoco is fun and very different
I've also been pretty impressed with Dead Head Fred, which i recently got. Great story and pretty good platforming.

get puzzle quest. it was my goty last year. such an amazing game (unlike the dam loz:ph they keep giving awards to that i couldnt finish). i dont have a psp, but i recommend that game to everyone since its on every system.

Kingdom Hearts is supposed to make its way to the psp this year.

 edit: if you are into old school Final Fantasy there is always 1 & 2 (the real two that was in Japan not the 2 that came to America).

when i got my psp (which i didnt really want but it was free) i had no freakin clue what psp games were good so i did a bunch of reading and watching online. i would recommend checking the reviews at expotv.com, most of the reviews show actual gameplay footage so you can see what the game is like. i HATE watching game teasers/trailers b/c they are always misleading but the footage in the expotv reviews are of actual gameplays.
