One of the interesting pieces of news out today is that Nintendo is releasing a New Super Mario Bros U + New Super Luigi U combo pack.

While NSMB series tends to be very leggy - the attach rate on this game on Wii U has already been super high and it's uncertain what kind of demand this game really gets with Super Mario Maker out there.

It's of course a better deal for those who want a new retail copy without needing to download NSLU as DLC. Saves a few bucks.

I can't help but wonder if this could mean other early WiiU releases that have since gone extinct at retail may be considered due for re-distribution. Pikmin 3 and Lego City Undercover of course come to mind. Maybe even TW101 if there's enough copies of those sitting around somewhere.

On a semi-unrelated note, I've actually had this combo pack since I got my Wii U since it came with my console. It's fairly interesting that they're releasing it as a stand-alone package now. Likely to keep the legs of the game high since it'll be competing with SMM, as you said.

I really hope so. I would like to see Pikmin 3 get a reprint, used copies are rather expensive at the moment.

Yeah we will see them again like last gen and last last gen

AC 3 and ACIV double pack with all DLC might shift a few copies on wiiu but doubt it would see light off day.

Here in Germany ( at least my city) pikmin 3 is sat on shelve

My kids scratched my copy beyond use, and it's already a replacement copy from the Wii U bundle that we bought from Nintendo. They sell the bundle discs for like $34. This is $60 apparently. I think I will just order another one from Nintendo.

I would buy a re-release of Splatoon with all the DLC included on the disk, maybe one from Hyrule Warriors?
I just got a used copy of this "bundle" for less than 20 U$, this re-release is just filler to capitalize on the release of the Super Mario Level Editor in September.

Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors rereleasing with all their DLC included would be nice (although for MK8 and HW the DLC weren't expensive for the amount of contents they delivered).

A reprint of Pikmin 3 would be nice.
