Forums - Gaming - Metal Gear Solid V: First Review

Good game but their opinion is reserved , not as good as other MGS ( except PW ) according to them

The game is too much repetitive, same kind of missions over and over, according to JVM, the story and it's treatment is disappointing, but the gameplay is rich and good.

Well someone already translated the summary :

Gameplay – 4 out of 5 stars

The Metal Gear game with the best gameplay, and with the most possibilities even though some aren’t that useful.

Graphics – 4  out of 5 stars

Game looks clean. Although, it clearly shows its crossgen roots. Not the best looking game.

Sound – 4 out of 5 stars

A lot of tracks from the 80s and a nice sound ambiance.

Length – 4 outs of 5 stars

A long playthrough (more than 40 hours) but one that can be tedious at times.

- The prologue, the first hours are excellent, very good atmosphere, discovering gameplay richness with high quality level design is really fun, the OST fits well to the situations.

- Then the game becomes more and more repetitive, boring because of the open world not really mastered, a diluted narration and the gameplay system breaking the rythm.

- They didnt like being forced to complet a lot of side repetitive missions to progress in the main story ( that's why i compared it to Xenoblade X )

- The game lacks of variety, they felt the open world wasnt exploited at all. ( they compare with recent open world games like Batman and TW3 to say this one feels really limited in comparison )

- Cinematics are very rare, the script is vague even until the end

- Those who liked Peace Walker should like this one

- The main story takes 50h ( including all the obligatory side missions )

- MGS V is still fascinating despite all these flaws

Your going to have to do alot of suuming up. Not everybody knows.... French?

What a clickbait title...

It seems this game has the same flaws than Xenoblade X about the fedex missions ( though with a good gameplay )

85%? That's hardly a bad score...

85 % is much less than other MGS, and it's not really the score, but what is said that is worrying, i sum up that.

Sigh

Can you give a breakthrough

While it doesn't give me reassurance that the critic basically implies that this is another Peace Walker but with PS4 graphics, (I hated Peace Walker) I'm positive that there's bound to have a lot of things to love in this game, if Ground Zeroes is of any indication.

By the way, 17/20 is hardly a "not as good as expected". Every huge pro seems to have a small con (and I really don't understand his graphics complain, the game looks gorgeous), so that means they all had a nice, positive reaction while playing it.

OH NO WHAT THE HELL ARE WE GOING TO DO, IT"S ONLY GOT AN 8.5 FROM A SINGLE PUBLICATION. WE. ARE. ALL. DOOOOOOOOMMMMED.

Buying order: Switch, better pc

I LOVE Peacewalker!!!!!!

Second favorite MGS
