Forums - Sony - Help: PS Vita or PSTV?

See the subject and post.

PSTV 6 11.54%

Vita (original OLED model) 26 50.00%

Vita (current "slim" model) 20 38.46%

Total:52

Do not buy PSTV (the game options are very limited). Buy a physical Vita. Honestly, I prefer the original OLED, but the 2nd version is just as good.

Its also purchaseable for 1/4 the cost and can use a DS4 for PS1/PS2/PS Now and PS4 Remote Play.

True. You get what you pay for, but it would be a shame to spend money to find out that the one game you want isn't on the machine.

If I were to buy a Vita, I'd get the portable version, specially because I don't have a PS3 controller. I hope it gets a pricecut, but I have no idea if it will ever come.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Why the fuq would you use a DS3 instead of a DS4? There isn't a SINGLE factor that even remotely makes the DS3 better other than battery life -- and that is negated by the fact that you can plug your DS4 into any Micro USB cable (PC/Wall adapter/ etc).

The PS TV's main benefit is the low cost, especially during sales when it is 40 dollars. And it can play Persona 4: Golden and Dangan Ronpa, which are frankly the only games I care about for the Vita.

PS TV also comes with one gigabyte of internal storage, so if you just use it for saves, you don't need to buy a memory card.

But, with regards to image quality, the PS TV is pretty poor. The original OLED screen has beautiful colors, and the PS TV looks very blown up and jaggy.

I don't have PS4 either, so no Dualshock 4. :/

I said it because, if you buy a PSTV to save money, a DS3 is cheaper than a DS4.

I bought a pstv and unless your getting it to remote play a ps4 on another screen in your house I would advise against it. The games are limited and apps like Netflix and hulu don't work which kinda defets the purpose IMO. It would be cool if they would let you connect a ps4 controller to a vita and add an HDMI mini poet to it..

It's still a bad choice. Getting a DS4 on amazon for $50 is a better choice just in build quality and then the ability to remote play a PS4 if you ever get one (plus having a second controller for that ps4).

Vita with OLED display.

I wouldn't get either, but if I had to choose, then pick the Vita.
